President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave “agzachar” sadaka at the main mosque of the country on occasion of Almighty Night of month of Ramadan.
The vehicle of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approached the main mosque of the country.
Here, at the mosque square the Leader of the Nation was greeted by the Mufti of Turkmenistan, the Muteveli (an administrator of an endowment) of the main mosque of the country, imams of velayats and Ashgabat, honoured elders representing the capital and the regions, deputy Chairman of the Council of the Elders, the Chairperson of Mejlis, members of the government, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, the Hyakim of Ashgabat, the heads of diplomatic representations and missions accredited in Turkmenistan, deputies of national parliament.
The Head of the State proceeded to the mausoleum where he paid tribute to the first president of Turkmenistan, having laid a wreath. After, all participants of the ceremony laid flowers. The words of commemorative prayer sounded under the domes of the mausoleum.
Further, the Leader of the Nation went down to family tomb of the first President of Turkmenistan and his relatives where the requiem prayer was offered.
After the mausoleum, the Head of the State went toward the main mosque of the country. The Mufti of Turkmenistan read “ayat-tovir” prayer where he mentioned Muteveli-dean of this mosque Atageldy-aga.
Further, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proceeded to the special place for him.
Before the meal, the Head of the State addressed all the participants.
“Agzachar” sadaka is held on occasion of Almighty Night of the month of Ramadan, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, having noted that our ancestor believed that Ramadan is the best month and Almighty Night is the best night. It was celebrated together and in unity, with good thoughts and best wishes.
The night of omnipotence embodies benefaction, moral purity, clear belief, high humanity and unity.
Today, we continue with dignity ancient traditions, customs and rituals entrusted by ancestors, - the Head of the State said, having highlighted that the Clemency Decree for convicted persons on occasion of Almighty Night as signed following these noble principles, primordial traditions of mercy and humanity.
In this relation, the Leader of the Nation ordered the leaders of law enforcement agencies to undertake necessary measures for all pardoned convicts to be released from prisons and returned to their family hearths, families and relatives before the Eid Al-Fitr.
The 25th anniversary of our independent neutral state in celebrated in the current Year of respect of Heritage and Transformation of the Motherland, - said the Leader of the Nation, having expressed solid confidence that every Turkmen person would make deserving input in further development of the country.
Further, the Leader of the Nation asked the Mufti of Turkmenistan to say prayer.
The Mufti of Turkmenistan offered up the prayer to the Almighty for peace and calm in Turkmen land and unity of the people.
Having said warm goodbye to the participants, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left the event place.
