Social and economic potential of any state is inseparably linked with health, harmonic physical and moral development of society. In this context, independent and neutral Turkmenistan realizes large-scale measures for further development of public health sphere, improvement of its facilities and equipment, construction of modern recreational centres and sanatoriums meeting international standards.
Structure and activity of national public health system are improved by implementation of innovative developments and high technologies, enhancement of efficiency, availability and quality of medical services.
According to State programme “Health” and other programmes, big work for construction of medical and diagnostic centres, sanatoriums, new facilities producing medicines from domestic materials meeting the requirements of international standards of the World Health Organization is carried out. Besides, large-scale measures for training and improvement of professional skills of specialists are implemented in cooperation with European medical centres. Hospitals, health centres and houses are being reconstructed; their facilities and equipment are being improved.
Today, International surgery and endocrinology centres in Ashgabat, multisectoral hospital in Turkmenabat, of Lebap velayat, children clinic in Mary of Ahal velayat, are constructed with high pace. Recently, we laid foundation stone of multisectoral hospital and sanatorium “Avaza” on the coast of hoary Caspian Sea in Turkmenbashy of Balkan velayat.
Opening of International Neurology Centre of the Directorate of International medical centres, Morphological Centre, Centre of Public Health and Nutrition and Centre for Prevention of Especially Dangerous Infectious Diseases under State Sanitary and Epidemic Service timed to Day of Health and Medical Industry Workers is visual evidence of successes of our country in improvement of public health system.
The position of Turkmenistan in world society, adherent steadily and firmly to international obligations and principles of international law, with its own model of public health protection, is constantly growing. Our country cooperates with the United Nations Organization and its structural branches like the World Health Organization, the Children Fund, the World Population Foundation both in economic and cultural spheres and in many other directions of public health sphere.
Important role is given to international cooperation for successful realization of national programmes in different branches of medicine, large complex of joint projects and achievements in this sphere.
Considerable successes for prevention and control of numerous diseases, implementation of achievements of modern medical science are reached as result of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the World Health Organization. Our country was awarded with international certificates for elimination of dracunculosis and poliomyelitis as well as confirmation for absence of measles and rubella.
Our main target is to arrange large – format cooperation for the sake of happiness and wellbeing of our people and thus we are determined to continue consolidating of international dialog aimed at provision of universal peace, friendship and progress".
