The president of Turkmenistan received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of FRG

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federative Republic of Germany Margaret Maria Jubber, who presented credentials to the Head of the State.

Having expressed the gratitude for time allocated for the meeting, the guest passed warm greetings to Turkmen Leader from President of Germany Joachim Gauck and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The Ambassador mentioned that FRG pays special attention to development of interstate partnership with Turkmenistan, built on equal rights, mutual respect and benefit.

Having congratulated Mrs. Margaret Maria Jubber with appointment as authorised representative of FRG in our country, president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes to the Leaders of friendly State. Having highlighted that one of the priority directions of national foreign policy strategy is expansion of long-term full-scale cooperation with European Union including Germany, the Turkmen Leader confirmed the commitment of our country to consolidation and accumulation of effective bilateral contacts.

Condition and directions of further interrelation for all the spectrum of Turkmen – German partnership were discussed during the meeting. Having stated with delight high dynamic of interstate relations established recently, the Head of the State and the diplomat emphasized that political will and huge economic and raw material potential of both countries are key elements of their successful development.

Fuel and energy sector, public health, high technologies, industry, transport and communication spheres were called as perspective aspects of cooperation. Special accent was made on the subjects of public health and medical industry as well as on agriculture where positive experience of both countries is accumulated.

The Ambassador has also announced about urge of German business circles to participate in projects, which are under realization in Turkmenistan. It was noted that visual evidence of ever-growing interest of German business to consolidation of positions on promising Turkmen market is the fact that tens of German companies have opened branches and representatives offices in our country and work successfully over joint programmes in leading branches of economy.

The special emphasis was made on Days of German Economy held traditionally in our country. In particular, it was stated that business forums are efficient platform for consolidation of Turkmen – German economic relations and enhance the establishment of new business contacts between state and private organizations of both countries.

The Turkmen Leader noted that large opportunities are opened today for fruitful interstate cooperation. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Ambassador highlighted the importance of activation and expansion of partnership in humanitarian sphere, particularly in science, culture, education, sport and tourism.

To continue the subject, the Head of the State underlined that interest for learning German language is growing today, especially in the context of improvement of national education system. Specialists with foreign language including German are highly demanded in relations with expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic sphere, consolidation of contacts between business organizations of Turkmenistan and FRG.

In the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Federative Republic of Germany Mrs Margaret Maria Jubber expressed her gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for warm welcome, having assured that would make all efforts for successful development of Turkmen – German partnership.
