Today, independent neutral Turkmenistan pursues the effective work for protection of public health, increase of life expectancy, prevention of diseases, consolidation of healthy way of life, steady improvement of health system.
Special attention is paid on the government level to training of highly qualified personnel of public health sphere and to formation of generation of scientists involved in scientific researches in medical sphere, promotion of international cooperation in this sphere. These measures enhance further consolidation of authority and role of our country in world arena as a state that provides sustainable social and economic development of sovereign Motherland and radical improvement of social and living level of the native people.
New technologies and advanced achievements of scientific and technical progress are widely implemented in all spheres and branches of national economy including national medicine. All necessary conditions for expansion and consolidation of international cooperation are created in this direction.
In this context, improvement of activities for protection of mother and child, full-scale preventative measures, training and improvement of personnel, control of quality and safety of food products, dangerous infectious diseases and vaccine preventative diseases are key vectors of mutually beneficial partnership with structural departments of the United Nations Organization like the World Health Organization, Children Fund and Population Funds and other competent international agencies and large scientific and medical centres of the world.
Awarding of our country with international certificates proving elimination of dracunculiasis, poliomyelitis, and malaria, concentration of flour with iron, folic acid, salt and iodine is visual evidence of considerable achievements of Turkmenistan in improvement of public health system”.
