Conference hall of the Centre of Public Health and Nutrition of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ministry of Public Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan hosted the session of inter-agency Coordination Committee for realization of the “National Programme for Healthy Nutrition of the Population of Turkmenistan for 2013 – 2017”.
Specialists of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service of Ministry of Public Health and Medical Industry, Informational centre “Health”, as well as ministries of trade and foreign economic relations, agriculture and water resources, economy and development, finance, State Veterinary Service, State Association of Food products, State Fish Farming Committee, Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, capital hyakimlik took part in its work. International experts representing European Regional Bureau of the World Health Organization, Doctors G. Brad and Q. Johnson, Vice-president of Kazakhstan Academy of Food Sh. Tajibayev as well as personnel of country offices of the WHO and UNICEF were invited to participate in work of ICC.
In framework of the agenda, the participants of the session familiarized with medium-term review of realization of the “National Programme for Healthy Nutrition of the Population of Turkmenistan for 2013 – 2017” and defined the goals for future perspective. The participants noted that National programme is being successfully implemented. All ministries and departments involved in programme carry out the work aimed at improvement of quality of life, prevention of diseases and consolidation of healthy life style principal in Turkmen society. Subjects of communication and propaganda of health nutrition among the population and scientific researches undertaken in this direction were also reviewed.
Certain speeches, in particular of foreign experts, were dedicated to international practice in health nutrition recommended for development of national programme of healthy nutrition of the population of Turkmenistan for 2018 – 20125. Their proposals for the draft of future national programme were introduced by other participants of the session.
