In the modern era, our Fatherland is successfully implementing large-scale reforms in all areas, including fuel and energy. At the same time, an important aspect of the national strategy is the effective use of the huge potential of the oil and gas industry for sustainable economic growth, further progress and prosperity of the country, and ensuring the well-being of the people.

A significant practical step towards achieving the goals set, aimed at the systematic advancement of the country to new heights of socio-economic progress, was the approval of the program "Revival of a new era of a powerful state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052".

“In the new period of development, we have set higher goals for ourselves,” President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted in his speech at the inauguration ceremony, emphasizing that our main goal is to ensure stability and security, the socio-economic development of our native land, and further improve the standard of living of our people, as well as strengthening peace and mutual trust on the planet.

It was also noted that in the future we will implement a strategy aimed at large-scale development of the oil and gas industry and its integration into the international energy system.

In this context, it is important to further develop innovative industries for the processing of hydrocarbon resources, diversify the export potential of the fuel and energy complex, and create a multi-vector pipeline system for the supply of energy resources.

The successful implementation of the plans is intended to be facilitated by the construction of modern complexes specializing in the processing of oil and natural gas, the accelerated industrial development of promising fields “Barsagelmez”, “Goturdepe”, “Demirgazyk Goturdepe”, “Nebitdag”, “Altyguýy”, “Uzynada”, “Günorta Uzynada”, “Keýmir”, “Akpatlawuk”, including in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, and the “Galkynyş” field through the use of digital technologies, modern equipment and software. This will allow Turkmenistan to strengthen its leadership in the supply of energy resources to the world market.

Within the framework of the Program for the Development of the Oil and Gas Industry of the Country for the Period up to 2030, a phased increase in the capacity of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline is envisaged; construction of a strategically important project - the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline; commissioning of new deposits in the territory of “Bagtyýarlyk”; construction of large industrial facilities for the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, including those related to petrochemistry, gas chemical, chemical industries and electric power industry, commercial gas production plants and gas compressor units, new gas chemical complexes in each velayat, including the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, rubber and polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, methanol; production of textile synthetic fibers. In this case, the emphasis will be placed on the environmental component.

The top-priority tasks include the following: expansion of geological exploration aimed at revealing deposits of oil, gas and other natural resources; geophysical surveys and drilling of exploratory wells on the territory of known deposits of the country; development of new methods for 3D modeling of field seismic systems and software that will allow in the future to introduce 4D monitoring technology to optimize oil and gas production at developed oil and gas fields.

In addition, it is planned to introduce advanced technologies to improve the productivity of production wells in oil and gas fields; activation of drilling operations; continuation of work on the creation of science-intensive industries based on the latest highly efficient and environmentally friendly technologies and know-how.

At the same time, a complete chain will be created: from the extraction and processing of raw materials to the production and sale of competitive products with high added value.

One of the key aspects of the state strategy in the fuel and energy complex is the active attraction of foreign capital investments and experienced companies to solve the challenges ahead. In this context, our country creates a favorable investment climate and all conditions for successful business, strives for long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the energy sector.

Thanks to its favorable geopolitical position and the richest deposits of hydrocarbons, our Fatherland is one of the leaders in the supply of “blue fuel” in the Central Asian region, it has a huge potential for increasing gas exports to various directions, including European and Asian markets.

Thus, Turkmenistan has established fruitful contacts with dozens of states, large foreign companies with advanced technologies, as well as with financial institutions and international organizations.

Among them are Chinese companies, in particular the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), which is actively involved in the development of the world's largest gas field “Galkynyş”, exploration, development and development, on the basis of the Production Sharing Agreement, the contractual territory “Bagtyýarlyk”, commissioning of a powerful gas compressor station at the Malaý field.

In continuation of the topic, it should be noted the successful work on the basis of Production Sharing Agreements for many years in the Turkmen sector and the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea of such well-known companies as Dragon Oil (UAE), Petronas (Malaysia), Eni (Italy) and others. In addition, the development and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Dostluk field in the Caspian Sea is carried out on the basis of a signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Maintaining the level of oil and gas production in our country is largely ensured through the use of efficient technologies and methods of field development. In this regard, we note the importance of concluding an Agreement for the provision of services for well workover and enhanced oil recovery at the Goturdepe field with Tatneft Public Joint Stock Company (Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation).

Here it is also appropriate to say about the prospects for the development of a feasibility study of the “Conceptual Strategy for the Development of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries and the Seydi Oil Refinery”. Within its framework, it is planned to determine specific vectors for the development of a complex of fuel and energy plants, the feasibility of increasing the range of expensive petroleum products that are in high demand on the world market, as well as to study the possibilities and directions for modernizing existing technological facilities and building new facilities, based on the demand in foreign markets for oil and petrochemical products and available resource potential.

At the same time, measures will be envisaged aimed at increasing their competitiveness, increasing the depth of oil refining and creating an environmentally friendly and waste-free production.

At the same time, it is important to establish the production of hydrogen fuel, biofuel, lighting and technical kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas, various types of diesel fuel, technical lubricating oils and polypropylene, as well as calcined electrode coke, road and construction bitumen, etc.

The production of alternative and renewable types of energy in Turkmenistan, based on the introduction of technologies using solar and wind energy, will be further developed, and the volume of investments in green energy technologies will be increased.

The priority vectors of the forthcoming work include building up partnerships in the field of processing energy resources and exchanging the latest technologies within the framework of new environmental standards, attracting investors to supply our country with advanced equipment for the extraction and processing of natural gas and oil, and introducing environmentally friendly industries.

Turkmenistan, as one of the leading energy powers of the planet, intends to continue to carry out purposeful international activities, focusing the attention of the Community of Nations on issues of ensuring energy security.

In general, the implementation of the tasks envisaged in the program “Revival of a new era of a powerful state: the National program of socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052” and its most important component - the oil and gas industry - will serve to further increase the economic power of the Motherland, improve the welfare of the Turkmen people.
