This year the State Border Service marks 24th year. It is timed to this day the opening of the architectural complex of border detachment "Gazachak" buildings. The complex of the border campus includes administration building, barracks, autolock, warehouses and other facilities and technical of the training facilities, as well as many stored house where the new home will celebrate a hundred families of border guard officers. In the framework of the initiated by the leader of the nation the state program on renewal of infrastructure of the State Border Service, it was put into operation a number of objects, including several frontier posts across the country, as well as residential and office complexes. Two years ago, the Central Office of the State Civil Service has received in a new administrative building. Modern technical equipment and special equipment multifunctional structures allow efficiently managing the structure of the civil service and maintain the protection of the border.
Attention is paid to the training of officials at the border. The State Border Institute of Turkmenistan is preparing military personnel and specialists to work in the border department structure. The admission of students is implemented on the basis of recommendations of commanders after exemplary military service at the frontier. The current officers of the border guards periodically held training in various areas including training sessions abroad, particularly in the Border Service Academy of the Russian Federal. Commanders of Border Troops use world experience to prepare for duty the versatile trained border guards, who appreciate a soldier's Association, who know their business, and able to cope with the modern military technology.
Turkmen border guards are trained enough to be prepared and have all to ensure the full protection of the state border of Turkmenistan in order to maintain calm and peaceful life of its citizens. The boundaries of our Motherland are sacred, and the personnel of the Border Troops ready for solid protection of the gained independence. Border guards are carried out their services for the 24 hours a day, then the commanders of frontier posts are trying to create conditions not only for recreation, but also for interesting cultural and leisure activities. At the outposts there are library which regularly receive fresh printing materials.
In the structure of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan there are service dog and horse breeding. Endurance and loyalty of these animals has long been successfully used for border protection, when it comes to patrol the complex areas of landscape with rugged terrain and for practical needs.
Dogs of the border servants, as well as horses are represented good results on operative crime detection activities, detection of weapons, narcotics and explosives at the national and international competitions. On the eve of the day of border guards on the basis of nurseries it was held dog breeding competitions with the participation of dog handlers of Ministry of Internal Affairs. The four-legged assistants’ of the border guards were the best in several categories, including the trace work. To train unusual "special forces" there are special fields, where dogs are trained search and defensive skills, overcome obstacles. There are Akhal-Teke horses, and horses of other breeds help to protect borders.
Sports competitions are traditionally being conducted timed in professional holiday by the law enforcement departments. On the eve of the Day of Border Guards several tournaments were held, such as : volleyball and military triathlon, different types of small arms, passing the obstacle course by having full of ammunition, as well as the ability to conduct a "close combat” according to the rules of the national wresting goresh. Marine guards participated in cross connect along the Caspian Sea coast, as well as competitions in single rowing boats. Students of Turkmenbashi Naval Institute, as well as soldiers of the Defence Ministry of Turkmenistan jointed this competition.
By the Day of Border Guards it is prepared various cultural and mass events. The "creative triathlon" victory was gained by the military servants of Takhtabazar border detachment.
