Staff of law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan, while providing security of the state and the people, displayed vigilance and skills during operation for arrest of transporter of dangerous poison – opium, having intercepted the spread of this drug smuggling in our country.

Turkmenistan takes a firm and principled position in counter of drug abuse and illegal drug trafficking providing safe barrier against any encroachment on peaceful life and health of the people.

Counteract to this social evil hanging over humanity and being able to cause serious harm to gene pool of the nation is defined by Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov among top priorities of the state policy, which main target is formation of physically and morally healthy Turkmen society.

Targeted and multidisciplinary measures for interception of smuggling import of drug substances, its spreading and consumption are successfully realized in the country. This work is undertaken by complex approach in close cooperation of law enforcement agencies, custom and border guard services, education and health care departments, non-government organizations and mass media. Special attention is paid to large-scale educational work about harm of drug consumption in order of complete elimination of addiction that able to ruin lives of people fallen to its net.

Successive measures of Turkmenistan in this field are concrete input in universal efforts for counteract of this planet threat, provision of safe climate and stability in the region and the world.
