President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany, received the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Maxim Strauss.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, the guest stressed the continued commitment of the business community of the EU states, including Luxembourg to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, while noting the high interest of European partners to strengthen fruitful relations with our country, showing impressive growth of socio-economic development and achievement of great success in all spheres of life.
According to Maxim Strauss, constructive policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on initiation of which it is undergoing implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects of regional and international importance, creating the most favorable conditions for productive cooperation in various fields, including international air traffic sphere.
As the President states Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the improvement of the transport sector, above all, infrastructure modernization and technical upgrading of the aviation sphere, which plays an important role in passenger and freight traffic - both domestic and international routes. In the framework of the "National Programme of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan for 2012-2030 years" in the Turkmen capital and in the regions of the country it is undergoing the construction of new and reconstruction of existing airports, terminals, facilities engineering and technical purposes. In addition, much attention is paid to training of highly qualified specialists, replenishment fleet-art liners, opening of new domestic airlines and international flights on cost-effective ways.
During the meeting, President of Turkmenistan and his guest discuss the current state and the possibility of further expansion of cooperation on an economically beneficial and long-term and mutual beneficiary based. As noted, the airline «Cargolux» is one of Europe's largest air cargo carriers and performs like a regular (more than 60 lines), and charter flights to many cities in the world, including in the city of Turkmenbashi. In June of this year, the air cargo route map of this company is included the Turkmen capital.
In this regard, it is stressed that due to its favorable geographical allocation, Turkmenistan has a significant transit potential and can flow through its territory a considerable part of the Euro-Asian international freight traffic and the company is ready to double the number of flights performed by a week. Intensive integration of our country into the modern world economy, step up trade relations with foreign partners will contribute to the new Air Transport Agreement signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Taking this opportunity, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov invites the heads of «Cargolux» to take part in the opening ceremony of the new International airport in Ashgabat.
