President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Transport, Maritime Lines and Communication of Republic of Turkey Ahmet Arslan.
Having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time, the guest conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes of President of Republic of Turkey Recep Tayip Erdogan to the Leader of the Nation. Ahmet Arslan highlighted that Turkey pays special attention to development of traditionally friendly fraternal relations with Turkmenistan, which policy of positive neutrality, transparency and broad international cooperation is recognized and supported by the world society.
Having thanked for the warm words, the Turkmen Leader passed warm greetings and best wishes to the Leaders of Republic of Turkey and noted that Turkmenistan also pays great attention to consolidation of interstate dialog with Turkey, which entered quality new level and was filled with new content recently. Speaking of this, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that unbreakable friendship connections and years-old historical and cultural ties, uniting peoples of both countries, are important factor of dynamic development of Turkmen – Turkish cooperation.
Cooperation in transit and transport sphere, which perspective is determined by favourable geographical location of both countries, became separate topic of the discussion. In this aspect, it was mentioned that currently Turkmenistan carries out large-scale work for modernization of infrastructure of all types of transport, at the same time initiating large projects of international significance, which are successfully realized together with foreign partners.
Stating strategic character of development of international transport and communication infrastructure, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that fruitful cooperation, established between Turkmenistan and Republic of Turkey, has great importance in inter regional and global dimension. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that our countries have all grounds to held leading positions in formation of modern transport corridors in East – West and North – South directions. Thus, Turkish companies are entrusted with such large projects as construction of new Turkmenbashy International Sea Port and Ashgabat International Airport, autobahns, transport intersections and flyovers of international standards.
Having noted that Ashgabat would host Global Conference on Sustainable Transport in November of the current year, the Turkmen Leader invited delegation of Republic of Turkey to participate in this forum.
Having highlighted the interest of business circles of Turkey to continue to participate actively in implementation of large-scale transformation programmes and infrastructural projects undertaker in Turkmenistan, Ahmet Arslan expressed deep gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for permanent active attention to Turkmen – Turkish economic partnership.
