President of Turkmenistan receives Chairman of the Parliamentary League of the Japanese-Turkmen friendship

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the chairman of the parliamentary league of the Japanese-Turkmen friendship and member of the house of representatives of the parliament, Toshiaki Endo who arrived in the Turkmen capital.

Having expressed sincere gratitude for the meeting, Toshiaki Endo conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes of Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe. As noted it was an honor for him to meet with President of Turkmenistan; the guest also noted that Japan attached great importance to the development of the traditionally friendly dialogue with our country which was known worldwide as a country with constructive and peaceful policy in line with international initiatives.

Thanking for the kind words and passing on the warm greetings in return to the Emperor and the Prime Minister of Japan, the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed the commitment of Turkmenistan to further strengthen the fruitful relations with Japan, originally based on principles of equal and mutually beneficial partnership. Speaking about it, the Head of State kindly noted the ongoing dynamics of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation reached qualitatively new levels in recent years.

In the course of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest underlined that there were good prospects and an impressive capacity potential for mutual relations in the trade and economic spheres, and in the humanitarian field. As noted, a strong impetus to the effective Turkmen-Japanese cooperation has given the agreements reached after talks at the highest levels and during the visit of Prime Minister of Japan in Turkmenistan, held last fall.

A good example of successful bilateral cooperation was business relations between our countries and the world-renowned Japanese companies for a number of years working in the Turkmen market and participating in the implementation of major infrastructure projects. In addition, new incentives and boosting cooperation in scientific, education and culture spheres, projecting a significant factor in the further rapprochement of the two countries and peoples, strengthening the bonds of friendship between them.

As stated, an effective step towards boosting the Turkmen-Japanese partnership in the sphere of science and education was establishment in Turkmenistan the Engineer Technological University named after Oguz Khan. In this context, the guest expressed sincere gratitude to the head of state for the opportunity to visit Ashgabat and to take part in celebrations devoted to the opening of the university designed to train highly qualified professionals for the country focused on the development of a comprehensive innovation.

During the conversation, President of Turkmenistan and Japanese parliamentarian also stated for strengthening inter-parliamentary relations as an integral component of bilateral relations for the promotion of mutually beneficial exchange of experience in legislative sphere. It was designed to facilitate the activities of the Parliamentary League of the Japanese-Turkmen friendship. As emphasized, the establishment of this structure was not only a reflection of the achieved high level of the intergovernmental dialogue, but also the desire of parliamentarians of Japan to contribute to the development of fruitful cooperation for the long term.

As noted, Turkmenistan and Japan actively cooperated in the format of bilateral and multilateral through competent international organizations and agencies, including the UN, speaking for the consolidation of efforts in the development of balanced solutions of the pressing issues of our time, primarily, to ensure peace, security and stability in the regional and globally. The progressive and systemic nature implied the Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the framework of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan", where our country is the Chair for the period of 2015-2016.

At the end of the meeting, thanking President of Turkmenistan for the heartfelt welcome, Toshiaki Endo assured that in the capacity of President of the Parliamentary League of the Japanese-Turkmen friendship he would make every effort for the further successful development of fruitful relations between the two countries and nations.
