It was attended by 27 employees of the ministries and departments, public organizations, members of the Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee for road safety, as well as representatives of international organizations, in particular, UN agencies and the mass media.
The conference presenters emphasized the importance of holding this event which became a traditional campaign. As is known, the initiative of holding from 1 to 30 September the month dedicated to road safety and the prevention of road traffic injuries belongs to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The slogan "Road Safety is the tranquility of our lives”.The Head of State focused his attention to the necessity of responsible and integrated approach.
As noted by participants, modern Turkmenistan demonstrates a responsible approach to this issue, as an integral part of social policy of the state. Without taking into consideration of such task not one road construction project will occur. The road transport infrastructure in our country includes the elaborative system of traffic lights intersections, bridges, underpasses, parking lots, etc. It is mandatory that near the children's educational institutions and places of mass gatherings serve on duty a traffic police officer. At the same time a lot of attention is paid to improving the culture of behavior on the road pedestrians and drivers. It is undergoing the work on awareness and education with regard to the observance of safety rules.
Stressing the importance of the work aimed at protecting the health of citizens, the conference participants discussed a wide range of issues including decisions from which depends on the effectiveness the undergone work. Speaking about the prevention of road accidents it must be remembered if we break the rules of the road, we put at risk our own health and life. This is especially dangerous in childhood age. Therefore, the driving behavior of adults must serve as a positive example for the young citizens of the country. It is aimed to hold activities that take place within the month, designed to improve road safety, to raise the public awareness of the equal dialogue "pedestrian - the driver."
