Thailand was chosen by the national football team of Turkmenistan as the place for the training camp to prepare for the qualifying tournament of the 18th Asian Cup-2023 starting on June 8 in Malaysia.

Upon arrival in Bangkok, our team moved to the province of Sisaket in the northeast of Thailand, where they will hold a short-term training camp until May 31. During it, a friendly match with the national team of Thailand is planned, which will be held at the local stadium "Sri Nakhon Lamduan".

The national team of Turkmenistan is preparing for the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2023 under the guidance of the new head coach of the national team Yazkuli Khodjageldiyev. In this position, he replaced the honored coach of Turkmenistan Said Seyidov, who was appointed to this position two months ago, who, by the decision of the Football Federation of the country, will now prepare the youth team (U-20) for the qualifying matches of the Asian Cup in September this year in Amman (Jordan) - 2023.

In the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2023, the national team of Turkmenistan will play in Group E with the teams of Bahrain, Malaysia and Bangladesh. All matches in this group will be played in one round.

The Turkmen team will play the opening game on June 8 against the hosts of the tournament - the Malaysians. Then on June 11 they will play with the national team of Bangladesh, and in the final round on June 14 they will meet with the team of Bahrain.

The winners of six groups and the top five teams among the runners-up will advance to the finals of the 2023 Asian Cup.
