The charter with Turkmen pilgrims performing Hajj has been arranged by the State National Service “Turkmenhowayollary” in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
On the eve of Kurban Bayram, one of the most important Muslim festivals, 188 Turkmen pilgrims from all the regions of the country will join millions of pilgrims from all over the world to perform Hajj to Mecca and Medina, to visit main Muslim shrines in the sacred Kaaba and to conduct other traditional rituals.
On the eve of the capital city it is held a meeting of the major orders, pilgrims, as well as representatives of several departments, on which some organizational issues of the upcoming events are discussed.
The gathered emphasize that Kurban Bayram embodies the unity and solidarity of the Turkmen people and its continued commitment to the national spiritual values and cultural traditions which have been passed by courageous ancestors, guided by the principles of peace and humanism.
The representatives of the clergy and pilgrims note that the revival and preservation of the customs of the nation as an integral part of its rich historical and cultural heritage is of great importance in the education of young generation in the everlasting humanistic ideals of the Turkmen people. In this regard, participants express their immense gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the care of the continuity and enhancement of the national heritage, stressing that the creation of the necessary conditions for successful performance of Hajj is another indication of high spirituality of the modern era.
