It is implemented projects designed to improve the external power supply of large, industrial perspective gas field "Galkynysh", oil and gas deposits on the right bank of Amu Darya river and other large industrial enterprises. I am particularly pleased to note in the holiday that all this has been achieved thanks to the work of the Turkmen power engineering specialists.
We are faced great challenges, the solution of which will contribute to the further development of the electricity industry, the use of all available resource potential.
It is planned to create a circular grid of the country, including the grid of the capital of the city of Ashgabat, to significantly improve energy supply through the introduction of energy saving technologies, taking into account climatic conditions- to start using alternative sources: solar and wind energy. Such tasks we set for ourselves, and we have to do a lot of work.
"The concept of development of power industry of Turkmenistan for 2013-2020", adopted in view of the growing demand for electricity in accordance with the prospects of development of the Motherland and in the framework of which are built power plants and high-voltage transmission lines allows us to achieve our goals.
With the construction of new power plants it is significantly improved power supply of consumers of the country. The power of the energy sector is growing. It allows exporting surpluses of electricity to other states.
Our country is providing the increasing volume of electricity supplies to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. A great future and the project of construction of high-voltage transmission lines, along with the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the implementation of which will allow the diversification of routes of Turkmen electricity supplies.
Currently the level of energy consumption around the world is increasing. In this regard, many countries show great interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the sphere of electric power industry. This clearly demonstrates the multiplication of the international prestige of our country and the enormous role of energy profile in economic development. "
