Three parties namely the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Agrarian Party would participate for the first time in the Presidential elections planned in Turkmenistan in 2017, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov mentioned in his speech during the Council of the Elders in Ashgabat.
The Head of the State expressed his confidence that competitions of these parties would add new attitude and significance to social and political life of the country, provide high level of alternative of the elections, what in its turn would promote further increment of political culture of the society, improvement of unity and power of the people, consolidation of the society on democratic elements.
Addressing the participants of the session, the Head of the State noted the necessity to give opportunity to ballot for the position of the President of Turkmenistan to every educated competent citizen, who has work experience and wish to serve his people with faith and fidelity from any political party or group of citizens.
The Leader of the Nation highlighted that only by honest and active participation of the citizens and representatives of all levels and groups of the population, it is possible to nominate and elect deserving person to this responsible position, who would undertake the state affairs and lead the country along the right way to social and economic progress.
The session of the Council of the Elders undergoes in the capital Ruhyet Palace under leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The agenda of all national forum includes summing up of the outcomes achieved for the period, discussion of priority targets of further development of the country. It is expected that deputies of Mejlis would review the draft of the Constitutional Law on adoption of new edition of the Constitution of Turkmenistan.
