It is important to consolidate the importance of legal status of neutrality of our state as well as to attach special meaning to the historical Resolution on permanent neutrality of our country, which was repeatedly adopted by the United Nations General Assembly, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made special attention in his speech during the Council of the Elders in Ashgabat.

The Head of the State highlighted that the proposal to reflect the legal status of neutrality in new edition of the Constitution of Turkmenistan during national review of the draft of the Main Law was fully agreed.

The Constitution reflects such most important principles of our foreign policy as non-interference into other countries internal affairs, non-use of force, non-alignment to military alliances, development of peaceful and friendly relations with the countries of the region and the whole planet.

The Head of the State stressed the attention of the participants that the Constitution of Turkmenistan states the provisions on priority of universal standards of international law.

The President of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to all participants of national review for special activity for improvement of the Constitution. The appropriateness to conduct National forum during the session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan was mentioned.
