The football players of the national team of Turkmenistan played a draw - 1:1 with the team of Tajikistan at the first championship of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) that started in Dushanbe.

The tournament brought together five women's teams from Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, which will determine the champion in round-robin matches.

The match against the hosts of the championship began discouragingly for the Turkmen team, which already in the 8th minute found itself in the role of recouping after a curious goal. A corner kick followed from the left edge of the attack, Madina Fozilova struck in touch, the ball in flight hit Munisa Mirzoyeva's back and ricocheted off her into the net.

Such an unexpected ridiculous goal in the opening of the meeting, apparently, psychologically broke our team, which in the first half could not establish a combination game. The Tajik players, on the contrary, attacked a lot and hit Merjen Bagshieva on goal, but they could no longer extract any benefit from this.

During the break, the head coach of the national team of Turkmenistan Kamil Mingazov made some adjustments, and in the second half our team played more actively in attack. And the efforts were not in vain.

At the 66th minute, Maya Musaskaya with a long pass from her penalty area brought one on one with goalkeeper Lale Khaipova. Her kick hit the post, after which the ball, due to inconsistent actions of the goalkeeper and the defense player, flew off to Svetlana Pryannikova, who hit the target from the goalkeeper's line without interference - 1: 1, becoming the author of the first goal of the Turkmenistan national team in the history of the tournament.

In the time remaining until the final whistle, the score did not change.

Thus, the team of Turkmenistan, like the team of Tajikistan, scored the first point. The leaders after the first game day with 3 points are Iranian footballers, who in the opening round, thanks to a goal in the 53rd minute, Shabnam Behesht, won against rivals Kyrgyzstan - 1:0.

The national team of Uzbekistan will play its first match in the tournament on July 11 against Tajikistan. On the same day, the team of Turkmenistan will play with the national team of Kyrgyzstan.
