Ambassador of New Zealand is accredited to Turkmenistan

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva accepted credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of New Zealand to Turkmenistan Ian Hill.

On behalf of the Turkmen leader, the head of the National Parliament congratulates the Ambassador on the new appointment to the high diplomatic post and wishes success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and New Zealand.

Thanking for the kind words, the diplomat conveys President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warm greetings from the top leadership of the country, and addresses to the people of Turkmenistan sincere congratulations on the upcoming 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. As the Ambassador stresses it is a great honor to represent his country in a state that is rightfully recognized as peacemaking center, actively contributing to the establishment of friendly relations with all countries of the world, regulating constructive dialogue for common interests.

During the meeting, the guest is informed about the main directions of the state policy of Turkmenistan, realized on the initiative of the head of state of national and international projects and programs for the sustainable economic growth of the country, further improvement of the social sphere. The diplomat is also acquainted with the structure and legislative activity of the National Parliament. In this context, it is suggested to establish direct inter-parliamentary relations, which are an important factor in strengthening bilateral relations.

Speaking about the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and New Zealand, the Ambassador notes great interest of his country's full increase of interaction both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations, first of all, the United Nations, where Turkmenistan and the leader of the state Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov is known as the author of many progressive initiatives.

In conclusion, Ian Hill assures that as the authorized representative of his country in Turkmenistan will actively contribute to building effective cooperation meeting the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.
