Having congratulated on the opening of X International Exhibition of telecommunication, telemetric, information technologies and TV and radio broadcasting equipment and scientific conference, the Head of Turkmen State noted: “Having launched its first satellite «TürkmenÄlem 52°Е», Turkmenistan joined the number of countries developing the space. This is one of the events, which stir up our pride. From now on, our country has opportunity to use different services of satellite communication and offer it to tens of the countries of the planet. It has great importance for development of domestic telecommunication system, in particular in provision to access to high speed Internet, high quality broadcasting of TV programmes, provision of services in this sphere as well as promotes innovative progress of the country, growth of national economy, accumulation of informational, intellectual, educational potential of the country, all national economy complex, realization of new scientific projects. Works on such aspects as research of the space, studies of climate conditions, land resources and their protection are very perspective.
Implementation of large programmes for development of national economy sets certain targets for us including in further improvement of telecommunication and electronic connection media. Demands for different services in high information technologies sphere is constantly growing. Programme measures are undertaken for meeting the requirements of the population in modern communication services. On of the priority task is to provide the access to such services to our citizens. Telephone stations are being modernized, fibre-optic lines are being laid between the cities, satellite communication systems are functioning, and national cellular network is being expanded. Provision of organizations, enterprises and educational institutions with information and communication technologies is being improved; number of Internet users constantly grows.
Independent Neutral Turkmenistan is always willing to mutually beneficial partnership with all states, which are interested in development of transnational telecommunication system. Such relations will stipulate realization of colossal transit potential of the region, establishment of modern communication services, and provision of high level of information technologies. This, in its turn, will not only improve economic potential of Turkmenistan but also give new impulse to economic growth of European and Asian countries”.
