The tasks of holding of the forthcoming elections of the President of Turkmenistan are discussed at a meeting of the Central Elections Commission

The Central Commission on elections and referendums in Turkmenistan held a meeting, where in addition to the members of the Central Executive Committee and the working groups under the Central Elections Commission, national observers, the representatives of the Democratic Party, the Unity of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Agrarian Party, the Social Organizations and Associations of the country, as well as the Mass Media took part.

The main item on the agenda of the meeting is to discuss the objectives for orderly conducting of the forthcoming elections of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the election campaign on elections of the Mejlis deputies in some districts.

The participants of the meeting noted the impact of the "open door" policy, aimed at the interested international partnership in the legal sphere. The participants kindly noted that Turkmenistan steadily following their commitments, taking all measures for consistent implementation of the provisions of the basic documents on human rights in this area.

It is, first and foremost, the universal voting right, voluntary participation of citizens in elections, the creation of equal opportunities for nominated candidates, freedom of agitation during the election campaign, protection of the electoral rights of citizens, openness and transparency.

As noted, a huge role for the successful cooperation in the area of capacity-building of national electoral system plays a mutual exchange of experience and familiarization with currently in force international standards and practices of the organization of electoral procedures abroad, to carry out systematically joint meetings, consultations, training seminars and round tables with the participation of foreign experts in this field.

Within the framework of the current meeting, the chairpersons of the regional electoral commissions informed about the ongoing work on the orderly conduct of elections of Deputies of Mejlis instead of those left members of the parliamentarians by County No. 24 "Dushak" of Akhal region, No. 119, "Atchapar" and No. "124 “Pendi” of Mary region.
