President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Jack Nicklaus, the president of American company “Nicklaus Design” specialized in golf sphere, who arrived to our country.
Greeting the Head of the State and having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time, the guest confirmed high interest of the USA business structures including his own company in expansion of established mutually beneficial relations with Turkmenistan, which pursues its foreign policy course based on open door principles and constructive international cooperation.
Having stated with delight traditionally friendly steadfast character of Turkmen – American relations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that, while realizing large-scale transformation programmes, oriented at active practical implementation of best world practices, advanced technologies and innovations, our country is always opened for productive cooperation with foreign business partners.
During the meeting, the Head of the State and his guest shared the visions on opportunity of bilateral cooperation taking into account existing potential, in particular in such perspective field as sport, which development is one of the most important vectors of the state policy of Turkmenistan. Relevant programmes are aimed at achievement of targets in this sphere in the country. Their realization stipulates training of sportsmen and coaches, construction of modern sport and physical training complexes, multifunctional stadiums meeting international standards, establishment of conditions for conduct of large different sport competitions.
In this relation, it was mentioned that decision of the Asian Olympic Council on conduct of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017 in Ashgabat as well as successes of Turkmen athletes at prestigious regional and international competitions and tournaments are visual evidence of growing authority of Turkmenistan at international sport arena.
Highly appraising achievements of our country in sport and physical training field, promotion of principles of healthy and active life style, what is the result of inexhaustible selfless activity of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the businessman emphasized the willingness of his company to support development of such popular sport as golf in Turkmenistan.

The head of “Nicklaus Design” informed the head of the State on work undertaken in this direction taking into account recommendation and remarks given previously by the Leader of the Nation.
Having reviewed presented proposals, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that today, Turkmenistan undertakes actual measures for popularization and development of different sports, wide involvement of the population and first of all of youth into physical training and sport movement. Concerning the golf, it is well known that this is one of the popular sports in the world and can be played at any age regardless of the season. The golf is not only active but also useful for health spare time. This game develops coordination, thinking and self-control, disciplines and enhance training of the body as it stipulates long stay at open air.
Having assured that all recommendations of the Head of the State would be taken into account, the guest said that “Nicklaus Design” would put all efforts for strict observance of its partner’s obligations.
