In his address to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of molecular immunology, President of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM) Xu Anlong expressed gratitude to the leader of the Turkmen state for the personal attention to the 60th anniversary of the University and the congratulatory address on this occasion.
It should be noted that during the state visit to China in May, 2014, the title of the Honoured Professor of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine was conferred to the President of Turkmenistan.
In his congratulatory address on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the university, which ranks among the top institutions of higher education in the People’s Republic of China, in September, 2016, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that at present the political, economic, scientific and technological, cultural relations between Turkmenistan and China were successfully developing in the bilateral format as well as within the framework of large international organisations, including the United Nations Organisation.
The Turkmen leader emphasized that cooperation in the health care system, in particular in the spheres of the most advanced preventive measures, diagnostics and disease treatment, traditional medicine and innovative technologies as well as new practices in these areas had been enhanced and widened.
The Turkmen leader called for the development of close bilateral relations, in particular between the State Medical University of Turkmenistan and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and underlined that the exchange of the advanced scientific methods and practices would be very useful. The President emphasized that it would help our students and young scholars improving their professional standards.
Speaking about the aspiration for widening the partnership between the universities, it should be noted that Turkmen students study in the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Turkmen professors adopt the methods of teaching the foundations of Chinese medicine. This provides a platform for building up bilateral cooperation in the health care system and opens up wide opportunities for joint work of our countries in the sphere of medical investigations and training of scientists and doctors.
According to Doctor Xu Anlong, the congratulatory address of the President of Turkmenistan was read during the ceremony on occasion of the university anniversary with participation of more than 3,000 Chinese and foreign graduates, teachers and students, representatives of medical institutions in the People’s Republic of China as well as international partners.

He expressed belief that at the new stage of development of the Chinese university, the close relations with the high medical school of Turkmenistan would serve as an example of the international cooperation in this sphere.
