Realization of agreements achieved previously and existing opportunities for diversification of traditional partnership, which had new strong impulse recently, became the topics of interested discussion.
Having defined trade and economic sector among key directions of cooperation, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov noted the presence of considerable potential for improvement of productive contacts in this sphere and increase of volumes of bilateral trade turnover. Favourable perspectives are being opened for this due to comprehensive reforms realized in Turkmenistan, which are aimed at industrialization of national economy, fundamental modernization of relative infrastructure, establishment of new high technology productions aimed at manufacturing of wide spectrum of high quality competitive goods.
It was mentioned that Turkmenistan and Republic of Tatarstan acquired considerable experience of cooperation and implementation of important joint projects. Many years cooperation of our country with leading companies and enterprises of Tatarstan like automobile giant “KAMAZ”, PJSC “Tatneft”, PJSC “Kazan Helicopters” and others can be set as visual example. As is known, trade, training and service centre “KAMAZ” operates from 2008 in Ashgabat. Automobiles of this world known brand are used in different branches of Turkmenistan economy, where “KAMAZA” proved itself from the best side.
Fuel and energy sector, where wide opportunities for cooperation, in particular in oil refinery and petrochemical industry, are present, was called as well as one of priority spheres of bilateral partnership.
Favourable prepositions for activation of cooperation are opened in range of other directions; there are industrial complex, agriculture, high technologies field among them. Perspective of efficient joint efforts in transport sphere, establishment of combined transit and transport and logistic infrastructure, on currency of which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific international initiatives, were also discussed. Currently, Turkmenistan implements number of large projects including with foreign partners. At the same time, the sides exchanged the opinions on establishment of direct flights between Ashgabat and Kazan.
Cooperation in humanitarian sphere, where large experience of cooperation including education and training of qualified professional personnel is present, is integral part of bilateral relations. As is known, for few years, Turkmenistan sends its youth to get education in Tatarstan where currently large number of Turkmen students study. In this context, presence of good opportunities for expansion of mutually efficient contacts between educational and scientific and research centres of our country and Republic of Tatarstan was observed.
Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov also spoke for expansion of traditional relations and conduct of joint events culture and arts, what is important factor for popularization of richest historical and cultural heritage of both peoples, consolidation of friendship and fraternal ties between them. Concert of art masters of Tatarstan and exhibition of Tatar national handcrafts, organized in the Mukams’ Palace of Ashgabat on October 10, are summoned to serve these purposes.
During the negotiations, subject of cooperation in sport field, which development is of a great attention in Turkmenistan and Tatarstan, was also touched. It has special importance due to forthcoming V Asian Indoor and martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017. It is first sport forum of such scale in our country and Turkmenistan is interested in study of the best world practices in this direction. In this context, Tatarstan confirmed its willingness to render utmost assistance to Turkmenistan in preparation of this large international event.
Having confirmed the willingness of the sides to continue improvement of mutually advantageous relations in all directions, president of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan mentioned important role of Joint Turkmen – Tatar Work Group for trade and economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation, which activity is aimed at refinement of actual vectors of partnership and development of balanced solutions of all relative issues in the context of modern realities.
It was highlighted that such close cooperation meets mutual long-term interests and generally, strategy of constructive interstate Turkmen – Russian dialog.
