The scientific and practical conference on "Economic transformation of Turkmenistan is the basis of sustainable development" took part by the heads and representatives of ministries and departments of the economic complex, state and joint-stock commercial banks, the Academy of Sciences, teachers and students of higher educational institutions.
In accordance with the agenda of the current issues of socio-economic development, improvement of the institutions’ activities of financial and economic system, as well as the key aspects of international cooperation of this field.
The reports of the participants of the conference emphasized that the successful implementation of the "National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2011-2030", "Programme of socio-economic development of the President of Turkmenistan for 2012-2016", as well as public sector programs promoting full and the comprehensive realization of the enormous economic potential of our country, which is due to build-up the acceleration of the industrialization of the entire economic complex. In this context, it has been given the macroeconomic indicators clearly confirming the steady growth of GDP, the average annual rate of which at comparable price was 110.5 per cent in recent years.
The high level of performance is provided, first of all, the policy of public investment and significant amounts of foreign investment aimed at the comprehensive development of all sectors. Among the key factors that have a positive influence of economic and industrial potential of the country, it has been named and practical steps taken aimed to increase of the volume of gross domestic product (GDP), establishment of the comprehensive social infrastructure, provision of the employment of the population, maintaining the equilibrium of the foreign trade balance.
The prerequisites for achieving sustainable economic growth created a dramatic transformation affected the monetary, financial and fiscal budget systems. Moreover, the measures taken make it possible today to successfully develop the private sector. Further integration of the country in the global economy contributed to pursue the diversification and modernization of the domestic production capacity, the formation in accordance with international standards of modern transport and communication arteries.
It was stressed in the reports that one of the important factors for sustainable economic growth of Turkmenistan is the high investment activity. As a result of this policy it is undergoing intensive construction of new industrial and social facilities, which in technical equipment and technological stuff is responsive to the world standards. Accordingly, number of jobs is increasing, and provided an increase in the proportion of added value of joint ventures and foreign companies in the country's GDP.
A key importance to the success of socio-economic development is given to the expansion of international cooperation in the introduction of modern management tools, exchange of the innovative technology, training of qualified personnel, and establishment of scientific and cultural contacts. Progressive foreign policy of the head of the state’s strategy promotes dynamic strengthening of mutually beneficial relations with various countries of the world, which in turn has a positive effect on the growth of gross domestic product. In this regard, as noted the role of the foreign trade turnover of the country, which is characterized by the openness of the national economy to the external integration processes.
The strong performance demonstrated by our country in the modern era, testify the recognized authoritative financial organizations of the world and its effective development of the Turkmen model which was a strong indication of loyalty of the chosen policy by the leader of the national Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
