The successes of the national public health is confirmed by the Grand Prix anniversary exhibition

The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan was awarded Grand Prix Exhibition of economic achievements devoted to the 25th anniversary of Independence.

The achievements of public health of Turkmenistan are displayed in the expositions of the jubilee showcase allowing evaluating the 25 years of the State’s Independence, assessing the results of large-scale transformations and achievements. A wide range of products of medical industry enterprises is display the stands and the sanatorium institutions b y adding up information specially prepared for the exhibition of videos.


Today, among the development priorities of the national health system remain disease prevention in order to strengthen social principles of a healthy lifestyle, the introduction of advanced medical technology and improving the professional skills of medical specialists to ensure extensive international cooperation.

The number of new cutting-edge medical centers is constructed annually. This year it was no exception. There are four newly opened medical centers such as: the International Centre for Neurology, Center for Public Health and Nutrition, Pathological Center, Center for prevention of especially dangerous infections under the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, which are conferred by the prestigious award – International Property Awards. This award, established in 1995, includes several nominations, including "Architecture", "Interior", "Real Estate Company" and others, is currently one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of residential and office real estate.


A significant event was the solemn ceremony of conferring to Turkmenistan international certificate of WHO measles and rubella elimination. According to the participants of the ceremony, held at the conference hall of the State Medical University, this event is the recognition of the high level of Turkmenistan’s public health impact of ongoing work, including to ensure broad coverage of routine immunization of the population, as well as the success of supplementary immunization activities, thereby for the period of January 2012 it was not registered a single case of measles and rubella in Turkmenistan. According to the WHO international experts, Turkmenistan's experience in achieving these goals requires to apply this example in countries of the European Region of the international organization.


This was testified by the participants of high-level consultations on the prevention of malaria recovery in the European Region of the World Health Organization. The Forum, which brought together senior representatives of nine countries and leading experts from headquarters and WHO European Office, has been organized with the support of the Government of Turkmenistan in the summer of this year. Among the main objectives of the consultations is the preparation of the final text of the Ashgabat Declaration on Malaria Prevention and Recovery. The selection of Turkmenistan as a place of the meeting was not an accidental. According to WHO staff, Turkmenistan has shown that elimination of malaria possible. Success can be achieved if there is political will and worthy funding, and our country has become a platform for successful organization of work, especially in cross-border cooperation.
