President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Turkmenistan Sun Wei-Dung who presented the copies of his credentials.
Having expressed the gratitude for spared time for the meeting, the diplomat passed warm greetings from Chairman of the PRC Xí Jìnpíng and cordial congratulations on glorious 25th anniversary of the state independence. It was mentioned that accumulation of long-term full-scale cooperation with dynamically developing Turkmenistan, confidently following the course of progressive reforms and transformations under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is one of the main directions of foreign policy strategy of China. Recently, bilateral partnership has entered new level owing to trustful relations set between the Leaders of both countries, the Ambassador said.
Welcoming Chinese diplomat and having congratulated him on the appointment at responsible post, the Head of the State conveyed in return best wished to top leaders of friendly country, having stated with delight steadfast character of development of modern interstate relations, which are being built based on equality, respect and mutual benefit.
China respects legal status of neutrality of Turkmenistan and its foreign policy course based on its status, supports international initiatives for number of issues of global development, - the diplomat said. To continue the subject, the Ambassador noted the currency and importance of constructive proposals given by the Turkmen Leader for energy security and provision of reliable and stable transit of energy carriers to the world markets, ecological sphere, etc.
Mr. Sun Wei-Dung made special accent on the fact, that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov initiates large-scale projects aimed at development of mutually beneficial economic relations and strengthening of international cooperation by establishment of strong transport and communication infrastructure. In this context, the role of railroad main China – Kazakhstan – Turkmenistan – Iran, where trial container train made its maiden trip in the beginning of the current year, was mentioned.
The Head of the State highlighted that this railway is economically and commercially proven project, which is summoned to effect positively stable and sustainable development of the whole region. For our country, participation in this large-scale logistic projects means activation of transit capabilities as a state with developed transport system, which is one of important indications of social, economic and technology progress, involvement of our country into the system of the world economy, - the Leader of the Nation said.
During interested share of visions on current conditions and perspectives of cooperation, which is being successfully developed both in bilateral and multilateral aspects, the Head of Turkmenistan and plenipotentiary representative of the PRC expressed mutual interest in diversification of productive relations meeting the priorities of the state development of both countries. In this relation, importance of realization of previously achieved agreements during negotiations held in June of the current year between the Leaders of our countries in Tashkent during the SCO Summit, was mentioned.
It was highlighted that growing volumes of trade turnover between our countries including purchase of special equipment for railway branch, electrical equipment, etc. are bright examples of success of Turkmen – Chinese relations. Mentioning exclusively business character of many years of partnership and presence of huge potential for its further development, the Diplomat highlighted that such productive cooperation became possible in many ways owing to constructive policy of the Turkmen Leader. In this context, the Head of the State stated with delight that number of leading chines companies take active part in development of largest gas deposits in Turkmenistan and in other fields as well.
The Ambassador said that successful completion of important joint projects recently in different spheres including such grandiose project of the XXI century as construction of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China, which is the longest one in Eurasia, is a bright evidence to that. This transnational gas main, having become the embodiment of the great Silk Road tying many peoples of the continent in the old days, has huge geopolitical and social meaning. Along with that, it was emphasize that implementation of this large-scale project serves as key factor of energy security in Asia today, giving additional strong stimulus to development of continental economic relations.
Fuel and energy sector, trade and economic sphere, construction, agriculture and many other fields were defined as key vectors of Turkmen – Chinese partnership. During exchange of opinions on prospects of cooperation in transport and communication sector, the plenipotentiary representative of the PRC mentioned the importance of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Tajikistan railroad, which further would be extended to china. The Chinese side entirely supports this important initiative of the Turkmen Leader and wills to take an active part in its realization, - the Diplomat said.
Cultural and humanitarian sphere, serving directly to consolidation of friendship and trust relations, was named as one of important components of interstate cooperation. In this relation, the importance of activation and comprehensive intensification of bilateral contacts in science, culture and education, public health, sport and tourism was mentioned.
