President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received member of royal family of the State of Qatar, Head of «Faýsal» company Sheikh Faysal Bin Naser Al-Thani.
Having expressed his gratitude for the opportunity of personal meeting, the guest passed cordial greetings of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, who addressed the Head of the State and Turkmen people best wishes on occasion of glorious date – the 25th anniversary of the Motherland. Having warmly congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on coming holiday, Sheikh Faysal Bin Naser Al-Thani highlighted that his country pays special attention to traditionally friendly dialog with Turkmenistan, which confidently follows the way of peace, creation and progress.
Having conveyed return cordial greetings and best wishes to the Emir and people of Qatar, the Leader of the Nation stated with delight the steadfast dynamics of bilateral relations, which have had trustful and constructive character from the beginning.
During the meeting, the sides shared the visions on key directions of Turkmen – Qatari cooperation, which were given with strong impulse by the agreements reached at the highest level during official visits of the president of Turkmenistan to Qatar in October 2010 and the Emir of Qatar to our country in March of the current year.
In this context, the Head of the State and his guest emphasized the presence of considerable potential for activation of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership, stimulation of productive business relations in different spheres. Fuel and energy sector, transport and communication sphere, which are strategy factors of common sustainable development, are also priority vectors of cooperation. At the same time, large role is given to Intergovernmental Turkmen – Qatari Commission, which is summoned to promote consolidation of efficient long-term cooperation, diversification of its directions accounting modern realities.
The importance of traditional humanitarian and cultural contacts, which are integral component of interstate dialog, was also highlighted during conversation. There are good perspectives for cooperation in sport field, to which both countries pay the greatest attention. As is known, Ashgabat will host V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017, and our country is also interested in mutually beneficial practices with foreign partners in this aspect.
At the end of the meeting, having noted that he is very pleased to visit Turkmenistan during celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Independence, Sheikh Faysal Bin Naser Al-Thani wished President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov strong health for many years and new outstanding successes in his noble activity for the sake of prosperity of the Motherland and happy life of the people.
Bidding warm farewell, the Head of the State and his guest expressed the confidence that fruitful Turkmen – Qatari relations, while resting upon unbreakable ties of friendship and good will of the sides, would continue to develop successfully and be filled with new content.
