The delegation headed by Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Murtaza Javed Abbasi arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
Having expressed the admiration for large scale celebrations in honor of significant date, the head of Pakistan’s delegation sincerely congratulates President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on behalf of his country and the Turkmen people on wishes of peace, prosperity and new grandiose achievements for the path of sovereign development.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various aspects of successfully developing international cooperation is based on the common historical and cultural traditions and spiritual values of the two friendly peoples. In March of this year, the official visit of the Turkmen leader to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has initiated a qualitatively new stage in the history of bilateral relations built on the principles of trust, respect and mutual interest.
As Murtaza Javed Abbasi says his country appreciates the multifaceted activities and international initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to ensure global peace, security and sustainable development in the regional and global levels. In this context, it is emphasized the importance of an ambitious project of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India as well as projects for the creation of transnational transit and transport corridors, which will contribute to active economic integration of the region's states.
Among the promising areas of bilateral cooperation are also identified trade and economic partnership, cooperation in the industrial sector, in the sphere of high technologies, agriculture, and investment activity.
The meeting notes the importance of intensifying humanitarian cooperation, increases scientific and educational contacts and cultural exchanges, cooperation in the line of tourism and sports. In this regard, particular attention is paid to the 2017 forthcoming the V Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts to be held in the Turkmen capital.
Special emphasis is placed on the strengthening of inter-parliamentary ties, is an important component of a constructive dialogue.
