During extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on November 4, information on preparation to official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Malaysia on November 7 -8 was given. As is known, diplomatic relations between our countries were established on May 17, 1992. Turkmen – Malaysian dialog was successfully developed in all spectrum of cooperation for all these years, Currently, legal framework of cooperation is composed of 16 bilateral documents signed at interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels.
Starting from 2007, four governmental, official and working visits on high level were made between Turkmenistan and Malaysia. Targeted work for expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia in trade and economic sphere, energy sector, transport, industry and other branches is carried out. There are also large potential for expansion of humanitarian contacts in such fields as education, science and culture.
In this relation, Draft Programme of the official visit to Malaysia was presented for review to the Head of the State.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of the forthcoming bilateral negotiations on high level, which project to sign the range of documents summoned to add new impulse to development of long-term interstate partnership, to establish new approaches and mechanisms for realization of present considerable capabilities for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
Stating the presence of favourable opportunities for further development of efficient relations and exchange of the experience with Malaysian partners in different directions, the President of Turkmenistan gave number of specific instructions for preparation to the official visit to Malaysia.
