President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov hold working session with the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, members of the committee for preparation to the first Global Conference for sustainable Transport System, putting into operation of first part of transnational Asian International railway transport corridor. The Hyakims of the capital and Lebap velayat also took part in the session.
Announcing the agenda, the Leader of the Nation noted that international important ceremonial events planned for November, when various guests from different countries and representatives of international organizations would come to Turkmenistan, require proper conditions. We have to undertake all necessary measures for conduct of the forthcoming forum and opening on high organizational level.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov reported on fulfilment of assignment given by the Head of the State earlier including on preparation for the first Global Conference for Sustainable Transport System in our country.
It was highlighted that neutral Turkmenistan took active part in development of new Programme of global development until 2030. This composite action plan for solution of the issues in this sphere was anonymously adopted at international Summit during the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During his speech at the Summit, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave utterance to priority positions and approaches of our country to realization of this long-term programme and gave specific proposals, which received full support of the world community. Currently, appropriate work in different directions of sustainable development, where coordination of joint efforts for provision of stability of transport systems is one of the most important factors, is carried out for implementation if this UN initiatives.
Following these purposes, the first Global Conference for Sustainable Transport System is planned to hold in Ashgabat in November. By the decision of the Head of the State, appropriate organizational committee was formed for preparation to the forthcoming large-scale forum on complex basis and high organizational level.
Reporting on specific measures, undertaken in this direction, the Vice-premier informed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs and the International Road Transport Union prepared draft concept of the Conference. The work for programme of the forum, where number of other events such as topical presentations, signing ceremonies of international documents, bilateral and multilateral meeting and negotiations are planned to be included, is still carried out.
Having highlighted that currently, cooperation in transport and communication sector has special importance as integral factor of global sustainable development, president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that this sphere is a key segment of the world economy, which influence directly its balance and efficiency. Turkmenistan holds active position on the subjects of international cooperation in this direction, including in the UN format, by giving specific initiatives and implementing large-scale infrastructural projects with its partners for establishment of transnational transit and transport corridors.
Favourable geographical location of Turkmenistan stipulates its growing status as important transit and transport hub of regional and continental significance. Trying to realize by maximum existing considerable potential in this sphere, our country successfully implements target programmes aimed at complex modernization of facilities and equipment base of transport branch in all its segments, expansion of existing and establishment of new transport and communication networks, the Head of the State noted.
Recently, our country repeatedly was a place for large international events during which priority aspects of cooperation in this sphere were defined. There is International High Level Conference for Transit and Transport sphere among them held in Ashgabat in September of 2014. Speaking about this, Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov mentioned that decision on the first Global Conference for Sustainable Transport System in Turkmen capital is bright evidence of ever-growing authority of the country in the world arena, currency and requirements of creative initiatives proposed by Turkmenistan.
Having highlighted the importance of the forum, which is summoned to become important contribution into further development of mutually beneficial international cooperation in this strategic direction, the Head of the State gave number specific instructions to the Vice-premier for provision of high organizational level of preparation and conduct of the Conference, detailed development and timely solutions of all related issues.
Subject of practical realization of creative initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan in transport sector was continued in the report of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S. Satlykov. Reporting on work in the sphere under his supervision, the Vice-premier informed on course of construction of the first stage of Asian International railway Transport Corridor, Atamyrat – Ymamnazar (Turkmenistan) – Akina (Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) part and preparation for its opening.
It was informed that now, construction and installation works on this part, including construction of auxiliary infrastructural facilities and two bridges, were accomplished. Preparation work at the place of opening ceremony of the facility and cultural public events with participation of arts masters undergoes at high speed.
Having listened to the report, the president of Turkmenistan made special mention of establishment of international transport and transit lines as well as Asian International corridor, which would be the part of diverse railroad network of China and rapidly developing states of Asian Pacific.
Leader of the Nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Tajikistan is a bright sign of adherence of three neighbouring countries to friendship and fruitful cooperation meeting common creative ideas. Realization of this important project is summoned to promote directly social and economic revival of Afghanistan, its wide involvement to the processes of regional and international cooperation.
In continuation of the session, the President of the State mentioned that currently, formation of transnational transport corridors as a base of dimensional model of development of the infrastructure of regional and international cooperation become more topical. Development of international transport corridors meet meets foreign and internal interests of Turkmenistan. With regards to foreign policy priorities of our country, these are invariable peace-making course, regional integration in the Central Asia, partnership with European countries and the CIS, mutually beneficial relations with other country.
Addressing the Vice-premier, the Head of the State requested to provide organizational and technical preparation of opening ceremonies of new facilities. Special attention was paid to the role of mass media in highlighting of the Conference and other high-level events. Opportunities of broadcasting of events and changes of traditional role of mass media taking into account growing importance of social media was also discussed.
After, the President of Turkmenistan, addressing Hyakim of Lebap velayat Ch. Charliyev, noted that for the years of the independence, large progressive transformation happened in the eastern region of the country. Number of the Government Resolutions was adopted for complex development of the velayat and as a result, high social and economic indices were achieved. Having highlighted that opening of the first phase of Asian International Railroad Transport Corridor has great importance for the country, the Leader of the Nation addressed the Hyakims of Ashgabat and Lebap velayat with numbers of instructions.
