Football players of «Merv» won bronze medals of the championship of Turkmenistan. This was determined by the results of the 28th round of the national championship.
Before the final round, «Merv» and «Kopetdag» lagging behind it by 1 point claimed bronze awards. Both teams played away on the last day of the championship: «Merv» - in the city of Turkmenbashy with «Shagadam», and the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan - in Mary against the last line in the standings «Energy».
The fate of both fights was decided in the second half. «Kopetdag», thanks to accurate shots by Yhlas Saparmammedov (48th minute) and Bahtiyar Gurgenov (67th minute), took over Energetik - 2:0. And «Merv» thanks to the brace of Orazberdi Myradov (29th and 69th minutes) snatched the victory from «Shagadam» - 2:1. Kerim Hojaberdiyev (42nd) distinguished himself in the Primorye team.
Thus, having scored 46 points, «Merv» won the bronze medals of the championship of Turkmenistan for the fourth time. The team of the administrative center of the Mary velayat was led to this success by the head coach Magtymguly Begenjov. Under the leadership of this specialist, «Merv» also won the Mary Velayat Cup this year.
Previously, this team in the championships of Turkmenistan became a bronze medalist in 1994, 2004 and 2009, a silver medalist in 2012 and twice - in 2005 and 2008 - won the country's Cup.
Having taken the third place in the national championship, «Merv», together with the silver medalist of the championship of Turkmenistan-2022, «Altyn Asyr», received the right to represent our country in the next season in the second most important Asian club tournament - the AFC Cup.
In the final round, «Altyn Asyr» confidently took over the Balkanabat «Nebitchi» - 3:0. In the team of the agency «Turkmenaragatnashyk» Mihail Titov scored (15th minute) and Begmyrat Bayov (62nd and 87th) scored twice.
Recall that the gold medals of the national championship went to «Ahal», which in the last round won a victory over «Ashgabat» - 4:1. It is noteworthy that in the course of the meeting, Mergen Orazov's wards were losing - 0:1 after an accurate shot in the 9th minute by Bashim Gurbanberdiyev. However, after that, the champions pulled themselves together and scored four goals into the opponent's goal. Didar Durdyyev scored a double for the winners (24th and 43rd minutes) and Arslanmyrat Amanov (36th) and Arzuvguly Sapargulyyev (90+2) scored once each.
