On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received letters of credence from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada in Turkmenistan Christopher John Cooter.
On behalf of the Turkmen leader, the head of the National Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment to the high diplomatic post and wished him every success in his work that aimed to strengthen fruitful relations between the two friendly countries.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the diplomat conveyed the warm greetings of the Prime Minister of Canada and the heartfelt congratulations on the remarkable date – the 25th anniversary of independence to the Turkmen leader. The diplomat noted that Canada supported the efforts taken by Turkmenistan together with the international community with the aim to strengthen peace and progress in the region, in particular through the diversification of the transit of energy sources and transcontinental trading routes.
The guest was informed on the key areas of the constructive policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan in the name of prosperity and sustainable development.
