The national team of Turkmenistan is preparing to take part in the II Winter International Sports Games «Children of Asia», which will be held from 23rd of February to 5th of March in Kuzbass.
The rich competitive program includes ten winter sports, including skiing, speed skating, hockey, snowboarding, and figure skating.
Turkmen athletes will compete in three disciplines - figure skating, short track and snow volleyball. It is worth noting that the young athletes are in a good mood, they are determined to adequately represent our country in the inter-row sports arena.
Athletes from 13 countries will take part in the competition, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and others. The opening ceremony of the «Children of Asia-2023» will be held on the 25th of February at the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo.
For the first time in the history of the Games, competitions will be held in four territories of the Kemerovo region - Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Mezhdurechensk and Tashtagolsky district.
Turkmen figure skaters will perform short and free programs on the 27th of February and 1st of March. The competitions will take place in the Sports Complex «Arena of Kuznetsk Metallurgists Oleg Korolenko» in the city of Novokuznetsk.
Speed skating and short track tournaments will be hosted by the largest sports complex in Siberia - the «Kuzbass» Ice Palace. Representatives of Turkmenistan in this sport will take to the ice on the 28th of February and 1st of March. Short trackers will overcome distances of 500 and 1000 meters.
Snowboard, freestyle and snow volleyball competitions will be held in the Tashtagol region, in the «Sheregesh» ski resort. The national team of Turkmenistan will be represented by 4 athletes.
