“The railroad industry makes considerable contribution to steadfast development of our country, increase of potential of national economy, consolidation of other spheres of economic complex, - the message of the Head of the State says. – Turkmenistan, being one of the developed counties of the world, steadily develops railway sphere, which is key segment of transport communication network. New lines of railroads being laid, different carriages, powerful locomotives and other equipment are procured. Innovative technologies are introduced into the branch and new enterprises are established.

Formation of transnational transport corridors today is a task of utmost importance in the context of expansion of mutually beneficial regional and interregional relations. Peace-loving policy pursued by Turkmenistan and its favourable geographic location create special preconditions for activation of cooperation in transport sphere with Central Asian and other countries of the planet. Important communication project of regional significance was implemented and key system of transport communication with neighbouring countries was established owing to the gained experience of road construction. This road of friendship and peace, which gained the great support of the world community, became an important link of international system of transport communications connecting the Europe and Asia.

Railroad and automobile bridges Turkmenabat – Farab across the Amudarya River, which are to be put into operation soon, are also summoned to make considerable contribution to increased social and economic progress not only of the Lebap velayat but the country in general as richest deposits of hydrocarbon and mining mineral resources lie in the subsoil of this region”.
