The action organized by the Government of Turkmenistan, the State Coordination Commission for Counteract of Drug Addiction under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs was a visual confirmation of the determination of the State and the society to counteract one of the most dangerous challenges of the present.

Leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, representatives of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to our country and mass media took part in the action.


Confiscated drugs were demonstrated to the participants and afterwards packed bags and bundles were placed to the special furnaces. The process of destruction of dangerous poison was held under strict correspondence with set rules and permanent control of the personnel of law enforcement departments.

Currently, our country realizes National Programme for counteract of illegal drug trafficking, support of people addicted to drugs and psychotropic substances, in accordance with which large-scale measures for suppression of smuggling of drugs, detection and prevention of drug addiction are undertaken.

Owing to the special attention of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to this issue, the development and implementation of the programmes stimulating the refusal of addiction and following healthy life style are one of the aspects of combined solution of this problem.
