On the eve of World Health Day, the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific and practical conference «New food technologies aimed at preserving the health of the younger generation».
In addition to the staff of the Technocentre, scientists from the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan, the Institute of General and Practical Biology of the Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan named after Oguz Khan, the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, as well as students of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev and the Turkmen State University took part in it. The opening speech of the conference was opened by the Director of the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, d.c.s. D. G. Gadamov.
Head of the Food Technology Laboratory H. Muhammetgulyeva spoke about the contribution of the laboratories of the Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences to the introduction of advanced food technologies in the country. Since this laboratory specializes in studying the technologies of quality, calorie content, processing and long-term storage of food products, some results of ongoing research work on environmental safety and quality of food products produced in our country were presented in the presentation.
The rest of the speakers devoted their speeches to the issues of healthy nutrition as an important condition for maintaining and strengthening the health of the younger generation; the role of proper nutrition in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases; Kopetdag food plants; the value of Omega-3 as an activator of telomerase, which slows down the aging process.
More specific questions on the topic of the conference were covered in speeches about the benefits of children's yoghurts and the nutritional value of marmalade for children, the role of vitamins in the healthy development of children. The general leitmotif of the conference was summed up by the speech of the student of the Faculty of Biology of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Leyli Arazgylyjova on the topic «The health of the younger generation is the wealth of our country».
