In the Epoch of the Revival of a new era of powerful state, Turkmenistan is confidently moving forward to new frontiers of progress and prosperity. Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, fundamental reforms are being carried out aimed at further democratization of state and public life, increasing the country's economic potential, and ensuring the well-being of the people.

On April 17, the head of state held a working meeting via the digital system, at which the progress of agricultural work on the agricultural lands of the velayats and other issues were considered.

The President of Turkmenistan focused on conducting seasonal field campaigns in the regions at the proper level, giving a number of instructions regarding quality control and strict observance of the norms and terms of agricultural technology when caring for wheat and other crops, sowing cotton, as well as the production of silkworm cocoons.

Separate instructions related to the issues of rational use of water resources and preventive measures aimed at combating agricultural pests.

At the same time, the head of state ordered to ensure the high quality of construction of various facilities planned for commissioning this year as part of the country's socio-economic development program in 2022-2028 and the National Rural Program.

On April 18, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave sadaka-agzachar in the village of Yzgant in memory of Myalikguly aga and ¬Ogulabat eje.

The hero-Arkadag thanked everyone for their respect and participation in the ritual meal, after which the ayat-tovir was read, prayers were raised for Allah to accept sadaqa-agzachar.

On April 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Acting Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia, and the Americas Miroslav Yenca.

During the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN were discussed. Particular attention is paid to the activities of UNRCCA.

Turkmenistan supports the work and initiatives of the Center, in particular, in promoting political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the states of the region and neighboring countries, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, expressing confidence that its potential would continue to be in demand.

The President of Turkmenistan also received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Eli Cohen.

It was emphasized that the interstate dialogue is developing on an equal, mutually respectful and trusting basis. Turkmenistan and Israel are positively cooperating in a number of areas, including within the framework of authoritative international structures, primarily the UN and its specialized agencies.

One of the priority vectors of Turkmen-Israeli cooperation is the trade and economic sphere. It was noted that the intensification of visits by representatives of the public and private sectors, the organization of exhibitions of products manufactured by the two countries and technological developments will contribute to the development of mutually beneficial partnership.

On the same day, the opening of a new building of the Embassy of the State of Israel in Turkmenistan took place in the capital. The ceremony was attended by the heads of the foreign ministries of the two countries, as well as the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat.

Issues of the socio-economic development of the country were considered at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held digitally on April 22.

On the agenda is further improvement of the national legislative and legal framework in the light of the tasks outlined by the President of Turkmenistan at a meeting with deputies of the Mejlis of the seventh convocation and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag during a meeting with newly elected members of the Halk Maslakhaty.

Issues of optimizing the activities of the banking sector, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of energy resources to the population, and modernizing the structure of enterprises in the industrial and construction sector were considered. The head of state gave instructions regarding the work on the protection, study and reconstruction of the country's historical and cultural monuments, improving the national healthcare system, introducing the latest technologies in passenger and cargo transportation services and modernizing the relevant legal framework.

It was also reported that in order to develop trade relations with neighboring states, work is underway to create a Turkmen-Uzbek trade zone. According to the relevant Agreement, the first stage of the construction of a shopping center near the Dashoguz-Shabat border is underway. In addition, information was provided on the organization of the activities of the joint venture Turkmen-Uzbek Trading House.

A separate topic of the meeting was the results of the working trip of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the Swiss Confederation on April 17-19 in order to participate in a number of major international events - the ministerial meeting of the member states of the SPECA Program and the 70th session of the UNECE, dedicated to digital and "green" transformation.

Along with this, during the visit, bilateral meetings were held with the leadership of the UN Office in Geneva, UNECE, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), as well as the relevant ministries of a number of countries.

Proposals were submitted for consideration by the head of state aimed at further building up a fruitful dialogue with authoritative international organizations, in particular, on the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in SPECA in 2024 and the organization in May of this year of a round table on ongoing measures for digital and green transformation of the national economy, expansion of cooperation in the field of media, interaction between Turkmenistan and the Academy of the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as with the WTO in a number of areas.

Last week, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree according to which, on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, on April 30, 2023, Ashgabat will host an international beauty contest for Akhal-Teke horses, competitions among artists, sculptors, carpet weavers, jewelers, photographers, publishing house workers, designers, cameramen.

Among other events of the week was the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on April 17 in Ashgabat with the Korean parliamentary delegation headed by the head of the Korea-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Lee Dal-Gon.

The head of the Korean delegation expressed condolences to the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan on the irreparable loss - the death of his mother Ogulabat Berdimuhamedova. The speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Kim Jin Pyo, also sent his condolences.

During the meeting, issues of Turkmen-Korean cooperation within the framework of international organizations, as well as in the trade, economic, legislative, educational fields, in the field of sports, tourism and healthcare were discussed.

In addition, the guest noted the interest of Korean companies in the implementation of projects in the gas sector and in the construction of objects of the second phase of the "smart city" - the city of Arkadag.

Prospects for further expansion of inter-parliamentary relations were also discussed at a meeting in the Mejlis with a Korean parliamentary delegation headed by the head of the Korea-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Lee Dal-Gon.

During the visit of the Korean delegation, a meeting was also held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during which the mutual desire was noted to bring diverse economic partnership to a qualitatively new level, a powerful impetus to which is given by various joint events, meetings and consultations.

The issues of introducing advanced experience and high technologies in the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan, mutually beneficial partnerships with leading foreign companies, including Korean ones, became the main topic of the meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of the fuel and energy complex with the Korean parliamentary delegation.

In addition, the guests visited the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, where the performance of the famous group of national equestrian games “Galkynyş” was organized, and also got acquainted with the architectural features of the city of Arkadag, emphasizing that they were glad to take part in the implementation of this grandiose project..

A historically significant event in the public and political life of the country was the meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Türkmenistanyň Maslahatlar merkezi building, held on April 20.

The meeting was held with the participation of the deputies of the Mejlis, newly elected following the results of the elections of March 26, 2023, and members of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, chairmen of the velayat, etrap and city halk maslahaty, archins of cities, towns, which are the administrative centers of etraps, as well as deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers , heads of military and law enforcement agencies, khyakims of velayats, the city of Ashgabat, etraps and cities, heads of political parties and public associations.

As noted, the main goal and mission of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan is to develop proposals, recommendations for the implementation of significant reforms and socio-economic programs for the country, to promote the strengthening of unity, cohesion, stability, and increase the power of our independent neutral state.

For the proper organization of the activities of the highest representative body of people's power, the Presidium was formed - a permanent collegial body accountable to the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan. It consists of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkmenistan, the Secretary of the State Security Council, the Prosecutor General of Turkmenistan, the Minister Adalat of Turkmenistan and the chairmen of the Halk Maslakhaty of the velayats and the city of Ashgabat.

The meetings of the Presidium will be held systematically, within the framework of the powers specified in the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan.

At the same time, it was emphasized that the activities of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan are based on the principles that form the basis of our statehood, inherent in the national mentality: democracy, transparency, justice, the rule of law, the priority of universally recognized norms of international law, equality of man and citizen before the law, respect for human rights and freedoms , free discussion and decision-making, taking into account public opinion.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan drew the attention of the meeting participants to some of his positions on reforming the executive branch, regulating the activities of the public administration system and improving its efficiency, and also identified priority tasks for the Mejlis and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the velayat khyakimliks.

Among them is active participation in strengthening the state foundations of Turkmenistan, its development, further maintaining stability in the country and the region, regional and international cooperation. Along with this, it is necessary to carry out targeted work for the consistent improvement of civil society, the promotion of new initiatives to ensure the rights and freedoms of citizens.

Among the tasks is the analysis of the legal status of the Halk Maslakhaty, specific areas of its activities, the expansion of the control powers of this body.

At the same time, the need for coordinated activities of the Mejlis and the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan was discussed.

Among the priorities of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag identified the creation of a legal basis for great transformations, the adoption of new legislative acts aimed at improving the efficiency of industries in a market economy, their active integration into the global economic space and the consistent improvement of laws.

Focusing on the recently adopted Law of Turkmenistan “On the city of Arkadag”, which determines the legal status of the city, as well as the legal, organizational and other foundations for the activities of state authorities in connection with the implementation of its functions, the National Leader of the Turkmen people instructed the Central Commission for holding elections and referendums , as well as the Mejlis of Turkmenistan to take measures to hold elections of members of the Halk Maslahaty of the city of Arkadag and new etraps in its composition.

Noting that the modernization of the national legislative framework is important for the political, economic, social and cultural development of our state, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty focused on the fact that one should always be guided only by the interests of the people. For the interests of our people are one of the main tasks of state power.

Through joint efforts, close-knit and selfless work, we will be able to ensure the prosperity of our beloved Motherland, implement plans that will be inscribed in golden letters in the annals of our glorious history and become an exemplary example for future generations, Hero-Arkadag emphasized.

Issues of intensifying the inter-parliamentary dialogue were considered during the meeting held in the Mejlis with the European Union's Special Representative for Central Asia, Ms. Teri Hakala, and the European Union's Special Representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore.

The subject of discussion was also the identification of promising areas of cooperation, including in the fields of energy, transport and trade. The expediency of establishing the exchange of technological and information resources was emphasized.

Thus, the events of the past week have become a vivid demonstration of the effectiveness of the large-scale socially oriented policy pursued under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, among the priorities of which are the enhancement of the country's economic potential, adherence to the spiritual values of the nation, the steadily growing level of well-being of the people, strengthening the international authority of the Motherland.
