The transport policy of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the initiatives of the head of state in the field of sustainable transport create a vector of global development in the transport and logistics sector.
Recent events clearly testify to this. Thus, on the eve of the celebration of the Day of the Constitution and the State Flag of Turkmenistan, at the 70th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, on the initiative of Ashgabat, unanimously, with the co-authorship of 67 member countries of the Organization, a Resolution was adopted, according to which 26th of November was declared the World day of sustainable transport.
When adopting this Resolution, the UN General Assembly referred to the relevant decisions taken at the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021, designed to bring cooperation in the transport sector to a qualitatively new level.
The document calls on UN Member States, international, regional organizations and civil society to celebrate World Sustainable Transport Day with awareness-raising and activities aimed at increasing public knowledge about sustainable transport and promoting the development of green transport.
The Community of Nations, in this Resolution, welcomed the efforts of the Government of Turkmenistan related to the organization in 2016 in Ashgabat of the first Global Conference of the United Nations on Sustainable Transport, as well as in 2022 in Avaza, the Conference of Ministers of Transport of Landlocked Developing Countries, and with satisfaction noted the Avaza final statement adopted at this forum.
The first Central Asia-China Summit, held in the ancient Chinese city of Xi'an, was an event of global significance, at which President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a number of topical initiatives.
At this forum of good neighborliness and cooperation, the Head of State called on the countries of Central Asia and China to realize the potential of transport partnership.
«We are ready to expand cooperation in the transport sector, the main factor of which is the existence of objective mutual interests of the countries of Central Asia and China», -said Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
He expressed confidence that the project «Revival of the Great Silk Road» put forward by Turkmenistan is designed to give a powerful impetus to economic development in Eurasia, uniting vast expanses from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean on modern principles, forming interconnected production and technological cycles and industrial belts.
«In this context, we consider it especially important to focus our efforts on maximizing the potential that opens up before us in the context of optimizing transport flows in the space of the Central Asian region and China», -the head of state emphasized.
In this way, according to experts, the transport policy of Turkmenistan creates global trends in economic development.
