Events of the past week have once again confirmed productivity of constructive initiatives of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on all-around development of our fatherland, increase of standard of living of Türkmen nationals, regular development of fruitful cooperation with foreign partners on principles of peaceful disposition, openness, and mutual benefit.
The course of agricultural campaigns in regions was discussed by the head of the state in the online working meeting held on May 8. The president of the country pointed out that observance of agro-technical standards of care of cotton, wheat, potato, onion and other crops and also successful fulfilment of the production plan of cocoons act among priorities tasks and gave a number of concrete instructions.
On May 9, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the Russian Federation where at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin as a guest of honour, he took part in celebrations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
After the meeting in the Armorial Hall of the Kremlin with the Russian leader the President of Turkmenistan together with heads of delegations, who arrived in Moscow for participation in festive events, proceeded to the central podium on the Red Square where the military parade took place.
After its completion, heads of states went to the Aleksandrovsk garden at the Kremlin wall and put flowers at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Victory Day was also solemnly marked in Turkmenistan. In all corners of the country veterans of war, home front workers, soldiers’ widows were honoured and congratulated. Flowers were laid at monuments erected in honour of feat of national heroes.
On May 10-11, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has made a state visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
During the summit talks, which were held in Dushanbe in the Palace “Kasri Millat”, head of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon discussed a wide spectrum of issues of bilateral cooperation, having concretised its key areas in the context of modern realities.
The parties also exchanged opinions on a number actual issues of regional and global agenda, representing mutual interest.
The special attention was given to expansion of partnership in the field of trade and economic relations, business contacts, participation of Turkmen and Tajik companies in joint investment projects. In particular, the head of Turkmenistan noted expediency to consider in detail interaction possibilities in textile industry.
Besides it, our country is ready for considerable expansion of cooperation in the sphere of delivery of products of the fuel and energy complex, building and chemical industry, food-processing industry and agriculture, pharmaceutical branch and other goods.
The transport sphere, where mutual efforts can and should be directed to overall objective achievement - creation of powerful and modern infrastructure, maintaining connectivity of transport systems of Asia, Europe, the Near East was mentioned among priorities of bilateral partnership.
Taking into account the spiritual and cultural generality of fraternal people, humanitarian relations, including education, act an important direction of cooperation. Participation of heads of two states by means of direct visual communication in the solemn stone-laying ceremony of general comprehensive secondary named after Makhtumkuli in peasant association “Ergesh Sultanov” in the district of Dusti of Hatlonski region of the Republic of Tajikistan can serve a good example for it.
As known, on December 9, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the building of a complex of buildings of this new educational institution designed for 540 places.
On completion of the celebration in the Palace “Kasri Millat” the ceremony of signing of a solid package of bilateral documents took place. Among them - memorandums and cooperation agreements in various spheres which, having supplemented the contract-legal base of interstate relations, urged to promote interaction growing on a wide range of areas.
To the applause of the present, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon put their signatures under the Declaration on deepening of strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.
On the same day, within the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov meetings with Chairman of the Majlisi Milli Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Rustami Emomali and Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda in which course issues of inter-parliamentary partnership were discussed, were held.
On May 11, in the hall “Mejlisler” of the Governmental residence the meeting of the head of Turkmenistan with Prime minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda, where key aspects of interstate dialogue were discussed, was held.
On the same day, in the countryside residence "Takob" the meeting of Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon took place.
During the conversation heads of two states underlined necessity of preservation of national heritage, study and protection of historical and cultural monuments of both countries. As was marked, having unique tourist routes, which cover objects of the Great Silk road, Central Asia has a huge potential for development of this branch.
Results of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Tajikistan became evident acknowledgement of invariable adherence of two countries and people to primordial traditions of friendship and brotherhood, and also readiness of the parties to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in all its spectrum.
On May 13, the President of Turkmenistan held the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which considered drafts of some documents and discussed priority issues of state life.
Among them - perfection of national system of legislation, preparation of the draft of the Resolution on development of the State budget for 2024, modernisation of manufacturing enterprises of the fuel and energy complex , course of seasonal agricultural campaigns and preparation for the harvest season.
The information on preparation for the regional Central Asian forum “The role of neutral states in strengthening of security, stability and dialogue in the OSCE region “, and also celebrations in honour of Day of the Constitution and National Flag of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of completion of the academic year, Day of Ashgabat city and holiday of Turkmen carpet also sounded.
Results of the International exhibition and conference “International transport-transit corridors: interrelation and development – 2023”, which took place in Ashgabat on May 3-4 of the current year with participation of more than 800 delegates from 45 countries of the world, became a separate theme of the meeting. About 100 business meetings were held and 26 bilateral and multilateral documents were signed.
At the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed a number of documents. Among them - decrees on appointments of the staff in the fuel and energy complex and Resolutions concerning development of the State budget for 2024, strengthening of technical and material basis of manufacturing enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the country and organised conduction of the wheat harvest.
The past week, the head of the state also signed Decrees and Resolutions according to which heads of law enforcement bodies of the city of Arkadag were appointed.
Besides it, the President of Turkmenistan signed Resolutions, having approved structures of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh commission on economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation and the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission on economic cooperation from the Turkmen side.
By the resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the residential area of Kyarizek etrap was given a category of settlement of the city of Arkadag and named after seyis-instructor Aba Annayev.
On May 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Ma Zhaoxu, Special Representative of the President of China and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China in the rank of Minister.
The guest conveyed warm greetings and invitation to the head of Turkmenistan from President Xi Jinping to attend the upcoming "Central Asia + China" Summit on May 18-19.
During the conversation, sides exchanged opinions on prospects of expansion of bilateral cooperation in such priority areas as trade and economy, fuel and energy complex and number of other branches, where one can see more clearly general efforts and available potential and possibilities.
Among other events of the week was the ceremony of presentation of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand Apirat Sugondhabhirom, which took place in the Mejlis. As the plenipotentiary of the friendly country noted, the Kingdom of Thailand highly appreciates and supports the peace-loving policy, important international initiatives of the head of Turkmenistan aimed at all-round consolidation of stability, solution of global issues of modernity.
Thus, events of the past week displayed success of the course consistently pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which reflects adherence of Turkmenistan to consolidation of peace and sustainable development, social and economic prosperity as well as further cooperation with all interested countries.
