Participants of the Central Asian Tennis Championship U-12 arrive in Ashgabat

The participants of the Central Asian Tennis Championship among boys and girls under 12 years old are arriving in the capital of Turkmenistan. The championship will be held from June 5 to 9 in the tennis complex of the Olympic Village.

According to the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, the Kazakh team was the first to arrive in Ashgabat on June 1. The next day, tennis players from Afghanistan arrived by train. Today, the delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Iroda Tulyaganova, was also warmly welcomed in the capital. Iroda Tulyaganova is the ex-sixteenth racket of the world, winner of numerous tournaments, including the junior Wimbledon Grand Slam and the US Open, and now the Secretary General of the National Tennis Federation of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the International (ITF) and Asian (ATF) tennis federations, under the auspices of which the current regional tournament will be held, are also expected to arrive today.

The delegations of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will be the last to arrive at the Ashgabat tournament on June 4. These delegations are headed by Abdurasul Mukhidinov, the Secretary General of the Tennis Federation of Tajikistan and Nurdin Medetov, the Chairman of the Tennis Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The draw date for the Central Asian Tennis Championship U-12 will be announced later.

Turkmenistan is hosting a regional tournament, held under the auspices of the International and Asian Tennis Federations, for the second time.

Four years ago, our boys' and girls' teams took third place at the same Central Asian Championship in Ashgabat.
