The first shipments using the TIR digital system of international customs transit were realized at the customs offices "Farap Avtoyollary" of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and "Alat" of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, located at the border of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During cargo crossings, digital transit guarantees were successfully handled by the customs agencies of the parties.

This system is the easiest and safest way to move goods across several international borders. It simplifies procedures at the borders, reducing the administrative burden on customs authorities and transport and logistics companies. This significantly reduces the waiting time at the border, saving time and money.

77 contracting parties around the world have already joined the TIR Convention. It is remarkable that their number is growing rapidly.

The pilot project was implemented with the support of the project of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) "Digitalization of the TIR procedure in the transport corridors of Central Asia to strengthen regional cooperation and trade", the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the national associations of international road carriers THADA and AIRCUZ.
