The grain harvest in Turkmenistan is steadily gaining momentum. Following the grain growers of Akhal, Lebap and Mary velayats, who, in accordance with the natural and climatic conditions of these regions, began moving a week earlier, on June 9, farmers of Dashoguz and Balkan velayats began harvesting winter grain, the beginning of which President Serdar Berdimuhamedov blessed during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on May 26.
The beginning of the campaign in Dashoguz and Balkan velayats was preceded by production seminars with the participation of representatives of the velayat and etrap khyakimliks, experienced agronomists, machine operators, grain farmers. The focus of the audience was on the issues of proper organization of the moving, ensuring a clear and well-coordinated work of the entire grain harvesting conveyor.
The participants of the seminars expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the constant care of rural workers, successfully implemented reforms aimed at systematic technical re-equipment and modernization of the agro-industrial complex, created conditions for a decent life and fruitful work of farmers who make a significant contribution to the well-being and prosperity of the Homeland.
This year, in Dashoguz velayat, farmers of the Magtymguly Daikhan Association of Gerogly etrap received the honorary right to start moving. The bread here was grown excellently: golden spikes were filled with ripe grains earlier than in other places.
The elders, according to the centuries-old good folk tradition, offered a prayer to the Almighty for a successful harvest. Then the respected elders, having received sickles from the hands of the younger generation, mowed down the first ripe wheat ears with the words “Harmanyza bereket, çäjiñize bereket!” – “May the granary of your cereal be abundant!” and handed the symbolic sheaves to the combine harvesters.
Dashoguz velayat farmers will have to harvest 265 thousand tons of grain. Local grain growers gave preference to high-yielding wheat varieties that have approven themselves in the soil and climatic conditions of the region.
2023- harvesting campaign involves combine harvesters and modern high-performance equipment. Their crews are made up of experienced machine operators.
During the reaping period, mobile mechanical repair teams will serve grain growers around the clock, providing them with everything they need – fuel, lubricants and spare parts.
Mandatory briefings on labor protection and fire safety were conducted for machine operators, drivers and other workers participating in moving. Proper living conditions have been created for them at the field camps, performances of cultural figures and the work of mobile retail outlets will be organized.
Delivery of wheat to reception points, barns and elevators will be provided by trucks. The laboratories of the Turkmenstandartlary Main State Service are also in full readiness, whose specialists will use the latest equipment to quickly determine the quality of grain coming from the fields.
As for the grain growers of Balkan velayat, their state order, according to the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is 80 thousand tons of grain. In the western region, much has been done to grow a full-fledged crop – in terms of implementation, precise compliance with agrotechnical standards and measures for the care of winter crops.
The events held in the Bagly gadam Daikhan farm of Kizilarvat etrap of Balkan velayat have acquired a special solemnity. By good tradition, the start of moving was given here with the participation of venerable elders.
In the upcoming season, the grain growers of the western region, in order to effectively use each harvest day, carried out the necessary preparatory work. Combine harvesters, distinguished by their power and high productivity, entered the fields. Their uninterrupted operation will be provided by a network of repair and mechanical bases, which have a sufficient number of cars, spare parts, fuel and lubricants.
As part of the celebrations on the occasion of sending the first tons of golden grain to the granaries of the Homeland in Dashoguz and Balkan velayats, exhibitions of products of the agro-industrial complex of the country were organized at the edge of wheat fields, samples of modern agricultural machinery were demonstrated. Festive treats were offered to the participants of the celebrations in elegantly decorated national yurts.
A wonderful musical gift for grain growers was prepared by performers of pop and folk songs, dance and folklore groups. Athletes demonstrated their skills.
