The largest enterprise in the country – Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex is indeed considered as industrial flagship. The achievements of the enterprise are characterised not only by stable modernization and construction of new production powers but by the development of social infrastructure where sport is one of the priority directions.
There are playgrounds on the territory of the refinery, Shagadam multifunctional stadium and cultural and sport complex in the centre of Turkmenbashy, sanatorium resort in Avaza National tourist zone. Trophies and medals, won by petroleum processors in different competitions, are displayed in the room of sport glory.
First place by the number of visitors among sport facilities of the refinery, which are always crowded, is occupied by the physical and health-improving complex of TRC. It is located in beautified and green industrial zone in close proximity to the refinery. There are swimming pools, futsal, handball, basketball and volleyball fields inside the complex. There are also gyms for martial arts, table tennis, callisthenic and other sports trainings and competitions. But health-improving work remains the main direction of the complex.
Everyday, refinery personnel comes here after the duty to relieve physical tiredness, energize and be filled with good mood. The trainings are held under supervision of experienced instructors. Master of Sport, qualified coach and therapeutic physical training doctor Tatyana Egenmamedova trains the swimming. Many people, who were trained in sport schools, have sport grades. But there are also many who started from the beginning. Comfort conditions for the training are established in indoor swimming pool. They are equipped with water purification systems and thermal regime installations.
There are many of those who wish to do table tennis, wrestling, game sports in other sections of the complex. Large attention is paid by the refinery personnel to the gyms, which are provided with sport equipment from the world’s brands.
