A solemn ceremony of summing up the results of the state competition «Teacher of the Year 2023», held annually by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, was held at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.

The Grand Prix of the competition and the honourary title «Teacher of the Year 2023» was awarded to Mahri Perdeliyeva, teacher, candidate of historical sciences, acting head of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.

The first place in the competition was won by Aygozel Arlanova, Senior Lecturer at the Digital Economy Department of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.

The second place was shared by two teachers - Merdan Amanov, senior lecturer of the Department of Languages of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Meretguly Gurbanov, teacher of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi.

Four participants received third places. They are Maral Sahetgeldiyeva, Candidate of Philology, Head of the Department of the Institute of National Security of Turkmenistan, Meretmat Meretmadov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Diagnostics and Treatment of Animal Diseases of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute, Movlamguly Hezretov, Candidate of Law, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Legal Training of the Border Institute of Turkmenistan and Bahargul Yakubova, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Music History of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition were awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees from the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and valuable gifts.

In addition, during the solemn ceremony, 17 more teachers of domestic universities, awarded with incentive prizes in the competition, congratulated. The teachers were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

In general, 25 teachers (one from each university of the country) were awarded at the festive site at the capital's university, who confidently went to victory throughout all stages of the competition, performed worthily in the final, demonstrated high professionalism and pedagogical talent.

The traditional annual competition, in all severity and fairness, evaluated the professional activities of teachers in accordance with all relevant criteria. The authoritative jury included representatives of the Ministry of Education of the country, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the National Institute of Education, and popular science periodicals.

Within the framework of the competition, professionalism in conducting classes was assessed, the methodological and scientific work of teachers was analyzed, attention was focused on educational and mentoring functions, academic degrees and titles of teachers were taken into account.

In a word, within the framework of the competition, a comprehensive assessment of the professional competence of the participants took place. And, of course, the participants who became winners and prize-winners deservedly achieved high results at the end of the review, and the most worthy teacher received the honorary title «Teacher of the Year 2023».
