The Turkmen team won ten medals at the 28th Kickboxing World Cup, which ended in Budapest. More than 2,000 athletes from 41 countries took part in the competitions, which were held under the auspices of the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO).

According to the results of all types of the program, representatives of Turkmenistan won three gold, one silver and six bronze medals.

Atajan Atamuradov (up to 54 kg), Hajimurat Geldimammedov (up to 86 kg) and Said Fakirov (up to 91 kg) won top awards for the national team of Turkmenistan.

Mukhammednazar Gurbannazarov (up to 60 kg) got a silver award, while bronze medals went to Eziz Meredov (up to 51 kg), Pygy Silabov (up to 60 kg), Mekan Begmammedov (up to 67 kg), Gochmurat Jumaniyazov (up to 75 kg), Serdar Mammedov (up to 86 kg) and Gulzada Jorakulieva (up to 65 kg).

In team competition, Turkmen team ranked 25th in the medal standings with 3 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals. The top three are Hungary (61 gold, 56 silver, 81 bronze), Ukraine (45 gold, 42 silver, 51 bronze), Great Britain (39 gold, 16 silver, 31 bronze).
