The harvest of potatoes continues in Dashoguz velayat. This year it was planted on eight thousand eight hundred hectares. Akdepe etrap is one of the leaders of the harvest for potato production in the velayat. A considerable part of the harvest has been gathered on three thousand hectares here to date. In general, the etrap's potato farmers intend to harvest more than forty thousand tons of crops.

Among the major potato producers is also the Shavat etrap, where the "apple of the earth" is grown on almost two thousand hectares of land. The basis of this year's harvest was made up of high-yielding and well tolerated mechanized harvesting medium-early and early varieties of Dutch selection, which are suitable for growing in local soil and climatic conditions. They are especially appreciated by farmers for their unpretentiousness in care and resistance to diseases.

In general, this year, the farmers of Dashoguz velayat should harvest more than one hundred and twenty thousand tons of potatoes. This is achievable with a yield of 140 quintals of tubers per hectare. Therefore, today the region pays special attention to the level of organization of each stage in the production of culture, including maintaining the necessary pace of harvesting, the well-coordinated interaction of all the links involved in them.
