The Head of the Velayat Department of the Nature Conservation Society of Turkmenistan - Ovlyaguly Gurbanov is well-known among the citizens of Balkanabat. The former handicraft teacher, an active and passionate man, who plants the saplings of coniferous species in his garden and then gives them to colleagues, specialists of organizations and institutions, schools and khyakims of etraps and velayats as well as all those, who will take care of the planted trees. Each year, he presents over 10,000 three-four-year saplings to everyone interested.
By the beginning of the last year’s spring planting campaign, more than 20,000 young trees were sent to various corners in Balkan, and by autumn, Ovlyaguly presented 13,000 saplings of coniferous, deciduous and ornamental trees to the people in Balkanabat, Turkmenbashi, Bereket and Esenguly.
