For the first half of the year, the growth rate for the implementation of work and the provision of services by the transport and communication complex of the country amounted to 124.8 percent, it was reported at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan held on July 14. In the field of cargo transportation by road, rail, air, sea and river transport, it amounted to 103.1 percent, and for passenger transportation - 105.7 percent.
According to the report of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the growth rate for the provision of services in January-June reached 105.4 percent for the Türkmendemirýollary agency, and 120.4 percent for the Türkmenawtoulaglary agency. During the period under review, Yutong ZK6128BEVG and Kamaz-6282 electric buses, JAC E-J7 electric vehicles, as well as chargers for them were purchased and put into operation in the city of Arkadag. In addition, to date, more than a hundred medium and minibuses "Toyota Coaster" and "Toyota Hiace" have been purchased and delivered to the country.
The leader in terms of growth was the “Türkmenhowaýollary” agency, which achieved a high rate of 291.4 percent. Its potential will be further strengthened by the acquisition and commissioning of two Airbus A330-200P2F cargo aircraft in the first half of the year. The expansion of the geography of cargo transportation is evidenced by the opening of new directions - Ashgabat-Seoul-Ashgabat, Ashgabat-Hanoi-Ashgabat.
For the “Türkmendeňizderýaýollary” agency, the same figure is 108.9 percent. In the first half of the year, relevant work was carried out related to the inclusion of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi in the list of "Green Ports" of the world, as a result of which the international certificate "EcoPort" was received.
Taking into account the growing role of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi in international transit and transport corridors, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of full and efficient use of its capacities, the need to increase the number of sea and river cargo transportation, and explore the possibilities of providing services to new foreign destinations.
