In preparation for the new academic year, the construction of eight new modern buildings with all amenities has been completed for students in general secondary schools of  Lebap velayat: in Seydi town of  Dyanev etrap for 500 places, in Zerger gengeshlik of  Chardjev etrap for 600 placess, in Farap for 960 places, in Sakar town of  Sayat etrap for 600 places, in  Esenmengli gengeshlik of the Halach etrap for 500 places, in Koytendag town of the Koytendag etrap for 790 places, in Megejik and Burguchy gengeshliks for 790 and 210 places, and in Govak gengeshlik of Kerki etrap, preparatory works are underway for the opening of a modern kindergarten for 160 places.

In general, there are 388 secondary schools in the velayat, where about 19 thousand teachers work. Last academic year, more than 323 thousand students were educated in secondary schools. There are also 37 specialized schools in the velayat. Intensive teaching of specialized subjects, involvement of experienced teaching staff give positive results.

The success of the velayat students is evidenced by the certificates received by them at various Olympiads, scientific, creative, design and educational competitions, held throughout the country, including at the international level.

Today, repair and maintenance works are being completed and preparations for the new 2023-2024 academic year have been carried out in all schools and preschool institutions operating in velayat.

A special feature of the new academic year is the introduction of vocational education courses into the basic curricula of state educational institutions of Turkmenistan in order to provide students with primary vocational education along with secondary education.

Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, students in grades 11-12 will receive two hours of vocational training per week, a total of 136 hours over two years.

It is expected in velayat that more than 29 thousand children will cross the school threshold for the first time on September 1.
